When Trump Blamed Pamela Geller For Inciting Violence
American Thinker ^ | March 15, 2016 | Daniel John Sobieski

Donald Trump, who denies that his provocative and sometimes profane rhetoric (particularly against Muslims_ has anything to do with violence and protests at his University of Illinois-Chicago rally, once blamed conservative activist Pamela Geller for provoking an attempted armed assault by – wait for it – unnecessarily provoking Muslims.

As Gideon Resnick noted last December in the Daily Beast, pre-candidate Trump was not as passionately concerned with Pamela Geller’s First Amendment free speech rights as he now is about his own:

Hopefully not. Trump was wrong, and I said so at the time. I believe one day (perhaps now) he’ll realize he was wrong.

BS - saying it belongs in a museum violates no free speech.

There were several incidents leading up to this contest. Damn right, Geller was taunting.

...and good on her for doing it!

Saying it belongs only in a museum basically tells me that we should not be able to put small CBF's at our ancestor's graves. Remember you and Trump say these ONLY belong in a museum. No where else? Not even at reenactmenrs?

Keep digging, you are not helping Trump's cause.

You do not even realize how sad what you just said was. You are what scares me about Trump supporters.

Cruz made several huge and stupid political mistakes in the last week and half and it cost him his chance. The difference is that I can see that, the Trump people make excuse after excuse and do not really listen to Trump. He is not the person his voters think he is. They are riding this train run on emotion not logic.

It’s an American issue. You can ignore it if you want, but that won’t make it go away.

I see you are still posting tons of stupid graphics to support your militant RINO...

Why I cannot support the RINO Trump:

Conservatives never give money to Reverend "I wanna start a riot" Sharpton

Conservatives never give money to the Clinton Foundation.

Conservatives never give money to Harry Reid.

Conservatives don't praise baby butchers AKA Planned Parenthood.

Conservatives should not have supported TARP or any other bailout.

Conservatives do not praise socialistic medicine in Scotland or Canada.

Conservatives should be completely against illegal immigration and amnesty of any kind.

Conservatives can disagree with military policy / foreign policy, but once they commit one way, if they change their minds, they should be honest about it and not pretend their position has not changed.

Conservatives should not trash other conservatives no matter what, you can disagree, but no trash period including Pam Geller's 1st amendment rights...

I’m surprised you didn’t call me a liar again, but I notice you still don’t reply to the questions / statements about giving money to Al Sharpton, which you repeatedly have not addressed. I guess you are OK with the Republican nominee giving boatloads of money to Sharpton, Hillary, Schumer, Reid, Pelosi and praising Planned Parenthood.

I understand the points Ted tries to make, but he leaves himself open for more sinister interpretations of his words. Just observe the "discussions" we've been having on FR for the past few months.

When Cruz started out with putting the responsibility for the actions of the protesters on the portesters, it takes a willful misinterpretation of his succeeding comments about the tone of the election rhetoric to say he is blaming Trump for the protesters.

Apparently there are plenty of people who either did not actually listen to what he said, who were looking for something to attack, or who read some of the dozens of media accounts which butchered the statements, presented clipped fractions of it with their misinterpretation filled in, or just read headlines which were hostile at best.

If they had any doubt as to what Cruz meant, then why didn't someone ask him to clarify? Where was the reporter with the balls to ask if Cruz was saying Trump was to blame for riots in the streets.

Well?

NO one did, apparently. Those who understood Cruz would never have interpreted it that way, and those who were looking to attack Cruz wouldn't interpret it any other way but to say "Cruz blamed Trump", when that just was not what was said.

Some headlines even went so far as to say "Cruz sided with protesters', which is absolute horse sh*t.

A lie will circumnavigate the globe before the truth gets out the front door, and the lie has been orbiting like the ISS.

Cruz people know their guy screwed up regarding protest statement.

Yep, you are right.

Cruz made the serious mistake of thinking Trump people were more intelligent than they are.

Finally, as a politician, Trump would be much more conscious of the Constitution and its protections.

But we have been repeatedly assured that the one crowning qualification Trump has is that he is NOT a politician.

Pick one.

I have no faith whatsoever in his respect for the Constitution.
