Ive reached a breaking point with those who continue to defend Donald Trumps endless brutishness.
If you went back in time a year, and asked Trump supporters if they would ever vote for a man who made fun of POWs, mocked the physically handicapped, compared another candidate to a child molester, and shifted positions as frequently as a fat guy in a church pew, they would have likely said No.
How did we get here? How did we get to a place where Trumps rhetoric and behavior is not only accepted, but emulated?
Donald Trump is a master manipulator. He came on the scene as a single issue candidate, with no other discernible positions. This was a necessity, because it allowed voters to fill in the rest with their own magic markers; the needs and ideas of millions of voters built Donald Trump from scratch. Thats why attributing any coherent policy position to the man is like trying to nail jello to a wall. His deliberately ambiguous and transitory rhetoric acts as a sort of scaffolding upon which anything can be built. This is a dangerous thing when you have an incredibly angry electorate.
When you pour yourself into an empty vessel, that vessel becomes personally linked to you. It harbors your needs, wants, and ideals in a way that nothing else can. Ultimately, what people see in Trump is their own reflection. When you see yourself in such a candidate, youre much more likely to justify, defend, and even emulate their behaviorno matter how deplorable.
Given this, it comes as no surprise that were beginning to see violence at Trump rallies. Donald himself has made numerous comments passively or directly condoning violence against those who defy him.

No. You didn’t understand the slogan. It’s Make America Trump Again.
“and shifted positions as frequently as a fat guy in a church pew...”
Yep. Written by a real sensitive fellow.
Monday its brown button down with heavy starch then just like that, Tuesday morning first thing they want you in a suit and vest with a matching fedora!
It is beautiful to finally be fighting back against the Evil Left.
Whether you realize it or not, they have been at war with us since the 60s.
Or are you a good old-fashioned Cruz fan?
I ask because Romney has started doing Robocalls in FL and OH; and has started doing appearances with Kasich.
Make America Trump.
A large following of oath keepers still sounds cultish.
I have no interest in being the last in line to be eaten by the crocodile.
Good grief...more GOP sniveling.
And yet some wonder why Cruz supporters are losing respect around here.
"You brute...You brute....You vicious brute!"
I support Cruz. I know it’s a longshot for him to win the nomination, but I still hold out hope. If he does win, he’s going to need a good share to the Trump voters to beat Hillary. I think it’s stupid to call them thugs, and then hope they vote for Cruz.

Chicken!
I have sensitive skin.
“Get the hell out”
Way to go. You get the Trump seal of approval.
Why don’t you go ahead and threaten to punch him out if he keeps on posting.
If it ruffles your conservative feathers too effin bad. You can always vote for Hillary.
That’s what Trump did to Ben Carson apparently.
Made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Ben will have a high position in the Trump administration.
I told Ben to get it in writing.
It’s an amusing irony that this misleading, anti-free speech article was written on a site entitled constitution.org.
