Ive reached a breaking point with those who continue to defend Donald Trumps endless brutishness.
If you went back in time a year, and asked Trump supporters if they would ever vote for a man who made fun of POWs, mocked the physically handicapped, compared another candidate to a child molester, and shifted positions as frequently as a fat guy in a church pew, they would have likely said No.
How did we get here? How did we get to a place where Trumps rhetoric and behavior is not only accepted, but emulated?
Donald Trump is a master manipulator. He came on the scene as a single issue candidate, with no other discernible positions. This was a necessity, because it allowed voters to fill in the rest with their own magic markers; the needs and ideas of millions of voters built Donald Trump from scratch. Thats why attributing any coherent policy position to the man is like trying to nail jello to a wall. His deliberately ambiguous and transitory rhetoric acts as a sort of scaffolding upon which anything can be built. This is a dangerous thing when you have an incredibly angry electorate.
When you pour yourself into an empty vessel, that vessel becomes personally linked to you. It harbors your needs, wants, and ideals in a way that nothing else can. Ultimately, what people see in Trump is their own reflection. When you see yourself in such a candidate, youre much more likely to justify, defend, and even emulate their behaviorno matter how deplorable.
Given this, it comes as no surprise that were beginning to see violence at Trump rallies. Donald himself has made numerous comments passively or directly condoning violence against those who defy him.

Trump is flushing ALL the Faux conservatives out of their collective swamp.
I’m amazed at how they are jumping out of windows so early to reveal who they really are.
We are taking our party back from the Bushes, Roves, McCains,Romneys, Ms. Graham etc.
It’s our F”ING COUNTRY, We decide who lives here.
Do you remember when Trump said, I want you to argue with them and get in their face, and If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun? Neither do I.
Obama saying get in their face, liberals seeking to ban all dissenting opinions as hate speech and doing so across platforms (bless FR for existing), liberals shouting and assaulting people they disagree with, throwing fire alarms when conservative speakers show up if threats of violence didn’t lead to the event’s cancellation, BLM attacking whites who don’t virtue signal ...
and you’re blaming Trump for violence when Sanders supporters infiltrated the event, threatened Trump supporters, and many liberals joke and seriously say they want to kill Trump.
The liberals have been building up a culture war and started turning physical in the past year or two, and you’re blaming the victim/focal point.
Oh, I realize it. Yes, I do.
And I desperately want to defeat it.
That is the only reason I put up with the nastiness I get on these threads.
I have the very faint hope that I will get through to somebody.
Number one, you have formed an emotional attachment to a narcissist who has drawn you in with wild promises.
You refuse to believe that you cannot trust him.
He will lose to Hillary and then where will we be.
The trumpers will have cost us the country.
Haven’t seen you here in a while, hello
Last time I recall there was an earthquake there
That is the Trumpkins all right...
“we dont need cowards or fools”.
I’m neither, but I don’t support Trump. You say you don’t need me; you will in the general election. Just like Cruz and I will need you if he’s lucky enough to win the nomination. If I thought for a second that Trump was going to do anything about illegal immigration and the size of government, I might support him over Cruz. I don’t believe Trump, though. Not for a second. Just my opinion. You do believe Trump, and you’re entitled to your opinion. Our difference in opinion doesn’t make you or me a coward or a fool.
Relevant point.
Trump is the Faux conservative.
It’s right there for you to see.
But dream on. There will be an awakening.
Uh. Go ahead and break. I doubt anyone will miss you.
Now that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard. S
I need my tin foil hat.
Bless his little heart. Just another person who doesn’t have a clue.
.. I think its stupid to call them thugs, and then hope they vote for Cruz...
The thugs at Chicago and subsequent rallies are from BLM, LaRaza, and Moveon.org. These people yelling to keep Trump being heard creating chaos, sometimes physical attacks are part of a social media coordinated attack on Trump.
If by some miracle Cruz gets the nomination, he can look forward to the same treatment from the same thuggish people at his rallies.
Rule number one in the liberal playbook is to silence those who oppose liberal views and core beliefs. Silencing the opposition runs from shouting to civil disturbance. If that does not work, then the next step is to destroy them. Ted is not immune.
Lemm guess: Romney’s doing ‘em for Rubio in Florida and Kasich in Ohio. As much as I do not support Trump right now, Romney’s even worse. #NeverTrump appears to stand for nothing positive. At least Trump appears to care for our country.
To quote Sarah Palin: You betcha!
You told another poster to get the hell out.
I did not.
And yes, that is why I'm risking Trump. He may screw up a LOT, but his mistakes will all lean in America's favor.
So you think he’s that much smarter than the other candidates? Hadn’t thought of it that way. Trump, you magnificent bastard!
Oh, I agree. The Left will attack Cruz, if and when they perceive him as a threat. I thought the article was talking about Trump people being thugs. I don’t think the Trump people are thugs, but I think the Trump-Cruz rhetoric is getting way overheated right now. Some of us are going to have to work together in a few months to beat Hillary. That’s going to tough if we all hate each other.
LOL! altura, you've never been banned in the nineteen (19) years you've been here.
Do go on, dear. :)
