Hard to believe this event is already 10 years ago.

I don’t have cable, but of its available online, I’ll watch it. Amazing it’s been 10 years.

Guess you didn’t watch. He did get respected and couldn’t by state law be removed.
Think the day in jail was to remove his state law license.

I’m looking forward to this because ESPN was in the forefront among the liars. I wonder if they’ll be honest about that.

I suspected Ms. Mangum was lying when the media interviewed her father who said “If what she is saying is true...”

IF??

Her own father can’t be sure she’s honest? That clued me right there that she wasn’t being truthful. If Daddy won’t even stand behind her, that’s all I needed to know.

Fantastic Lies on YouTube

Not the best format in the world, but watchable for those of us that do not have EPSN.

There was a tremendous amount of politics (campus and Democrat/Republican) in this incident.

Yep, I just happened to be on ESPN - which almost never happens. Must watch, for what the gov’t can do to you if they want to.

Ok, I saw this last night. Initially I thought, “Huh? They are going with the whole lib agenda?” But the director was very careful and set up these idiots perfectly. Even the reporterette who wrote the column against the team had to recant and apologize (although fat lot of good it did later).

Two thins stood out: 1) these young men are far better men than I. I would have been bitter, vengeful, and not rested until Nifong was in a cell next to a child rapist; and 2) many of the initial critics STILL did not get what they had done, even after they admitted they were wrong. The “out of court” settlements, I hope, were enormous and severely dented Duke forever. But I doubt they did.

Duke’s endowment value is approximately $3.4 billion. Even if they paid out the purported $100 million in damages, the university wouldn’t have even felt the effect, not to mention the likeliness of being covered by insurance to some degree.

I agree these young men exhibited stellar behavior throughout this ordeal. I also have to credit the defense attorneys for their hard work (that’s a lot for me to say based on my general feelings about this profession).

Agreed. That cell phone timeline was a thing of beauty.
