I voted for Trump to destroy the GOP
CNBC ^ | 3-4-16 | Bruce Bartlett

We have a very serious political problem in this country. Our system of government works best when it is balanced between roughly equal political parties, one on the center-right and the other on the center-left.

Unfortunately, what we have is a centrist Democratic Party and a far-right Republican Party. Therefore, the system is out of balance, creating gridlock even as the public cries out for action on serious problems such as our deteriorating public infrastructure, epitomized by that in Flint, Michigan.

I believe that Republicans made a deal with the devil in 2009 when they embraced the Tea Party, a populist group who were just mad as hell and weren't going to take it anymore. In Congress, the Tea Party has been aggressive in destroying all the norms that made it work for more than 200 years.

The government was shut down, increases in the debt limit are constantly at risk, nominations to even the most minor administration positions are blocked and, now, the president has been denied the opportunity, which is his right under the Constitution, to name a new justice to the Supreme Court.

Flush with such "victories," extremists of all shapes and sizes were attracted to the Tea Party ranks—Christian religious fanatics, gun nuts, anti-gay bigots, nativists opposed to all nonwhite immigrants, secessionists, conspiracy theorists and, of course, racists.

What binds them together is hatred. Hatred of government, yes, but also hatred of liberals, minorities, homosexuals, non-fundamentalist Christians, environmentalists, feminists, and many other groups.

Centrist Democrat party? This shows us once again that liberalism is a mental illness. But thanks anyway. When I ran campaigns I never cared why people voted for my candidate. I only cared that they did; so thanks dope.

What secret society pact is invoked against politicians?

Even the best and brightest conservatives newly elected to office seem to emerge from a Washington DC orientation process which morphs them into nut-less, spineless, mush. This even applies to the USSC as in the case of Roberts.

Liberals by nature are group-think champions so their behavior is not at all surprising.

We wish that’s what we had, Bruce!

It’s perception though, isn’t it. Guys like Bruce are surrounded by tards and so they soon see that as normal and anyone to the right as an extremist.

It’s kinda like the oh so clever, “faux news” bumper stickers. When I see those I know the driver doesn’t even watch FOX, which I stopped watching years ago as it got too liberal for me.

We have a love for limited constitutional government and since that has been dismantled, yes there is a great dislike for liberals who love government and its far reaching tentacles. There is also great dislike for those discovering their non existent rights that are nowhere mentioned in the
Constitution that governs the government of this great land. And there is no love for those who come here illegally and get protected by an elite sect that is embedded within the government. So, yeah he is correct on those points, but to say Centrist left is laughable.

The Rockefeller repuglicans have been trying to minimize the conservative/Reagan republicans for a long time, despite the fact that Reagan won by huge majorities. I don’t know how it will pan out, but this has been brewing for a long time.

While that may be true among the self selected leaders of the party, the boys & gals manning the fox holes may be waking up to finding reasons to like being American again. Liberty for one.

Stay out of their cell phones! Secure in their papers and privacy. Please get on the Right side Donald.

Open primaries invite this kind of gaming of the system. This clown obviously wants the Hildebeast, and he, as a dimmo, voted for Trump because all the polls indicate the Hildebeast can beat Trump. I wonder how many more dimmos did the same thing?????
