Have you changed your talk radio listening choices due to the candidate they support?

Posted on 03/07/2016 5:43:56 PM PST by MNDude

This is the most heated GOP primary I remember by far. It seems like there are very strong supporters and haters of Trump.

Many talk radio hosts seem to take have taken sides. Prager, Medved, Hewitt, (and slightly Glenn Beck) are against Trump.

Limbaugh seems to give Trump moderate support.

I'm wondering if anyone has completely stopped listening to any talk show hosts because of their current stances and comments they may have made about your favorite or least favorite candidate.

Yes, Levin is off the menu.

When Beck headed to the Border with Cruz and gave out soccer balls and teddy bears to illegal aliens—many of whom were teenager boys, I tuned Beck out. I hope Secret Service is monitoring him as his rhetoric is dangerous...

I used to really like Levin. Then I found him annoying, hypocritical and condescending. Now I simply can’t abide him.

The only one I truly like any more is Chris Plante on DC’s WMAL (same station as Limbaugh and Levin that used to have Hannity, now it’s Savage).

I’ve been listening to Rush since 1988 and for the past two weeks, I’ve turned him OFF. I’m very disappointed in Rush who proclaims to be neutral until a candidate is nominated. He’s a Cruzaholic lately. OFF and music on.

Wish the press would’ve asked more questions about Obama’s past.

I’ve changed a lot...

If I’m up early enough (currently on unemployed) I faithfully listen to Jim Quinn...if up a little later I definitely listen to Rose Tennant (she fills in for Hannity sometimes and is a breath of fresh air).

I used to listen to Beck...that stopped when he (and main crush, Ted Cruz, went to the border w/soccer balls and teddy bears). Permanently stopped when Beck went insane with “all Cruz, all the time.”

I’ve listened to Rush forever. But have started turning him off with his giving bonafides to Rubio; and almost achieving Beckian “love” for Cruz.

I was excited Levin came to my home radio market, but now, I don’t care for his yelling on and on about Cruz WITHOUT disclosing his future step son works for the Cruz campaign. This was after YEARS of telling his audience how wonderful his wife was during his many heart recoveries (and I only listened periodically back then...so it must have been almost a daily occurrence).

Anyways...I remembered there is this thing called “music” you can listen to in the car or when home alone. It doesn’t preach to me OR raise my blood pressure. Who knew? For me, the end of an era (and I won’t be scrimping to buy “their” books for my kindle any more either.)

I’ll tell you what I’ve done about talk radio

I quit listening to the bastards

Laura Ingraham and Steve Bannon and a few minutes of Sean is about it now

Mark Levin and Rush and Mike Berry are as useless as tits on a boar

They and their pets Rubio and Cruz are not part of the solution to me

They are such access and relevancy whores

I’m done with it and do not miss it

Especially levin

Turned off Erick Ericson...part of the Anti- Trump express.
Still listen to Herman Cain- not biased toward any candidate.
Hannity changes to a different candidate depending on the news cycle.
Rush no more since his stance on Rubio a few weeks ago.

Levin was always a neoabolitiionist

And a certain freeper always gently admonished me for overlooking that part of Levin

It’s not an issue anymore

The radio in my car at 5 central time now has iTunes or Raphsody playing

Hell with the neoconfederate or you’re all anti Semites baiting Levin

And I have all his books too

My compliant about Sean is his views seem centered on who he knows like he’s impressing us

And Jamie Dupree as his daily libtard devils advocate

I’d rather hear him talk to Jesse James Dupree every day

I quit listening to Bill Bennett and Mark Levin because I got tired of the Trump bashing. I was never into Glenn Beck or Michael Medved. Nowadays, I tune in to these four only to see how many seconds or minutes it takes before the crap begins.

Stopped listening to Medved years ago after he would call listeners who disagreed with him “idiots”. At the same time he refused to call Obama appropriate names such as “liar, Marxist, America hater, Muslim sympathizer” And before the 2012 election he gave Obama a C+ grade.

I have/had great respect for Prager, but he is on an all anti-Trump trip also.

I seldom listened to Levin just due to his show is delayed here until 8-11 pm, I'm not listening to radio at that time plus the info is already old.

I've been listening to Rush more, I think he is just pulling his listeners legs by being nice to all the candidates. Or he has mellowed in his old age.

I can't stand Bennett long ago, he is the classic RINO and he is so uniformed on many things. Going back to the 08 election he drove me crazy constantly saying what a beautiful family the Obama’s were.

Gave up on Beck many years ago, saw his hypocrisy and psychotic nature.

Will occasionally listen to shows to hear if they are still up to their usual stuff.

Is Hannity still on the air? Our local talk station has dropped him for that liberal Medved and he is a no go in their house

Your right. I couldn’t put my finger on why Rush was really getting on my nerves. He isn’t picking up peoples meaning or humor and I too think its his hearing. Trump uses humor a lot in his rallies at serious moments and then turns the tone around to serious. He has the talent of constantly mixing emotions as a means of keeping peoples attention and interest and controlling emotions. Rush is unable to pick up humor any more and takes Trump’s sarcastic humor as mixing up facts.

It’s a great question. I admit being a conservative talk show addict since finding Rush on the dial by accident on his first day of having a national show. At different times I’ve followed all the national hosts mentioned. I used to wonder why these hosts wouldn’t back a candidate. They were putting the success of their show above the country as I saw it. Now they appear to back someone and it splinters their audience.

It’s good to see in the comments that we don’t get our views from the hosts. Look at the uproar when they have even the appearance of backing or defending the wrong candidate. Now I sample the shows and turn it off as soon as they offend me or are working against my interests as I see them, which seems to keep getting earlier and earlier in every show.

My views are just slightly to the right of Cruz. Trump is too far left for me (cf. Kelo). My main interest is growth economics. My choice is Rubio who is not popular here. If Rubio loses Florida, I will shift my support to Cruz, but I don’t believe this country that keeps shifting leftward is about to elevate the most conservative member of the Senate to the Presidency.

We will build a bigger wall (and enact better tax reform, repeal Obamacare, etc.) if we win this election and hold the Senate than if we lose. My two cents.
