It was 56 this morning when I left to put tarps over the forms on a patio job-it started drizzling while I was there-it is 65 now, and raining off and on.

A donnybrook in politics
Up front and plain to see
Is nothing new in history-
Just so new to you and me

In the far past candidates
Used fists and it got rough
Now meeting in secret rooms
They plan to steal our stuff

Elites fear any “real” fight
It takes folks from the fog
Of sending another moderate
Who’ll spend in DC like a hog...

A donnybrook does sound more like a real knock-down drag- out-like a fracas-I like that word...

Thank you! A daytime high of 65 is on the cool side for here-70-75 is more average.

I think “fight” to “donnybrook” or “fracas” is like “lucha” to “pelea”-I’ve finished all my work for today-I guess I have too much time on my hands now...

It was 28 this morning, but we’re in the mid 60s now. Should be warm all week.

We went for a walk outside at lunchtime for the first time since October or November.

There’s a story in the sports pages today about a kid from my high school alma mater. He’s on the bowling team. He just finished a 299 game. One pin off of perfect.

This is the 14th time he has bowled a 299!

That kind of a warm-up in the daytime hours is not something I really thought of as happening where you are-here, it happens all the time-perfectly normal-but it isn’t something I’d have connected with a northern winter-and I can’t imagine not going for a walk outside since fall because of cold/snow...

Daytime warming is completely normal. Sometimes it’s only up to the 20s or 30, but it’s still a thing. Especially if it’s not cloudy.

The weird thing with winter up here is when you have nighttime warming. A different front blows in and suddenly it’s warmer in the morning than it was when you went to bed!

The counter to that is the days where there is essentially no high temperature. The high is right after midnight and it falls all day.

This is very spring-like, of course, to get up into the 60s. It’s like an April or May day. The average high for this date is 47.

“The high is right after midnight and it falls all day.”

That happens here, too when a strong, slow moving cold front edges into the area in the pre-dawn hours, and continues to crawl in during the day-in January, there were 2 of those-it was about 55-60 at midnight, 40 with wind blowing by 3 pm and into the 20’s by 10pm that night.

We rarely get the cold night-warm morning kind of weather...

Was listening to Hannity of the way back from the store.....caller claimed he was a well to do Dem all his life and voted for Obama twice. He is now voting for Trump, or Cruz if he is the nominee. Anecdotal or a trend?

The Mods just absolutely refuse to allow the story about the crazy broad dancing naked on the top of a truck cab after a traffic accident in Houston this morning to stay up. I have seen at least 5 different articles on it posted and almost immediately pulled today. It's a shame because some of the comments and news coverage posted were really funny.

However, here is a story of another crazy lady (Velma maybe) led police on a high speed chase in the Mystery Machine in California, and then somehow eluded capture even after the van was taken into custody.

We were laughing about the naked dancing lady too! You know the news is usually so horrible when you are happy to have something crazy like this on tv!
