Historians have suggested that Henry VIII, who had been described as an even-tempered and intelligent young man, may have suffered traumatic brain injuries that caused lasting health and behavioral problems. Muhammad Qaiser Ikram and Fazle Hakim Saijad of Yale University analyzed Henry's letters and other historical sources for information on his medical history and events that could explain his ailments. While in his 30s, Henry was injured during a jousting tournament when a lance penetrated his visor, and he received another blow to the head while attempting to pole-vault over a brook. In 1536, a horse fell on him during jousting match and the king was unconscious for two hours. "Historians agree his behavior changed after 1536," behavioral neurologist Arash Salardini said in a press release. Salardini and his team argue that traumatic brain injury offers a better explanation for Henrys memory problems, explosive anger, inability to control impulses, headaches, insomnia, and perhaps even impotence than other ailments that have been suggested, such as syphilis, diabetes, and Cushing Syndrome.

Or he just got the college tuition bills for his kids...
MacLeod syndrome is a much more compelling theory.
My deep prejudice for anything even remotely muslim sounding makes me question anything they say, write, research, publish, etc whether there is an anti western agenda involved..
That is some really sweet stuff. Let me pile on to the goodness ...

With all due respect, two Muslims diminishing the man who effectively had the King James Bible published is suspect.
If that makes me a bad person, so be it.
Same.
It doesn't. Regardless, it's well known that Henry VIII died of syphyllis.
Henry died 63 years before it was published.

A clumsier child you’ll never see than Horace; I bet he broke 6 wives......
(True Grit ref)
1536 is when Henry executed Anne Bolyn. My wife has studied this subject extensively and believes he destroyed himself when he did this, because Anne was the love of his life. Whether you agree with his goals or not, Henry believed in what he was doing, and that his war with the Church was divinely guided and commanded for him to do. To succeed, however, he needed an heir and Anne couldn't give him one (she had multiple "miscarriages" that could easily have been from poison in her food). So he felt he had to get rid of her in order to marry someone who would give him his heir. But doing so broke his heart, damaged his mind and he never recovered - he was dead ten years later. There were other strategic issues involved with the Church, too, but that's the gist of it.
