LOS ANGELES – Hollywood is bracing for an Academy Awards that more than any in recent memory, has the feel of a high-stakes showdown.

After a second straight year of all-white acting nominees prompted industry-wide scrutiny, viewers and stars alike are hanging on the opening words of host Chris Rock. The Dolby Theatre ceremony, heavily guarded by security, stands at the center of a swirling storm over diversity in the movies and at the Oscars, with protests planned near the red carpet and some viewers organizing a boycott of the broadcast.
The Academy Awards, normally decorous and predictable, are this year charged with enough politics and uncertainty to rival an election debate. Arrivals for the 88th annual Academy Awards are expected to begin as early as 5 p.m. EST, with the ceremony kicking off at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

That flick wasn't a complete loss...it took home a 'Razzie' last night for 'Worst Film of the Year'.
They use blacks in ads because whites don’t make buying decisions based on race. However blacks will increase their purchase of products if blacks are used in the ads.

Boring from the word go. But red carpet program has two minority host/hostess. And every other word is about diversity. The head of the Oscars is a minority female. What the hell? They will never be happy until there are only minorities.

You are so right. In fact, black guys are rarely the criminal in detective shows, unless balanced by a black detective who is smarter and wiser than his white colleagues.

A bunch of massively overpaid people giving themselves awards for being so great while lecturing us on how we should be better people. I’ll pass.
I switched over to the Red Carpet show and it was a fag fest freak show. Is there a hetero in Hollywood?
This will help make the Oscars into a list of films to avoid or at least end the awards as meaning anything about the quality of the films.
