"Data from the Federal Election Commission and state elections offices provided by the two websites show that Trump has given $584,850 to Democrats and $961,140 to the GOP over the last 26 years." (this is at the Federal level and does not include state or local)

Trump’s donations just prove that all politicians can be bought.
To the best of my knowledge, Trump has always stated the opposite of what you contend about donations. He has said in his speeches I've listened to that he has donated to politicians in both parties for his own personal gain.
He said that he has played the game taking advantage of political donations, legal loopholes, tax loopholes for his personal gain.
The real question is whether or not to trust that he wants to or will be effective as POTUS in steering the US in the direction we want to see it go.
Ask Bill Gates what happens to you and your company if you refuse to play politics.
Why do so many Hollywood people come out for liberal causes?
Because they want to work.
It’s the same in business, it’s been pay to play for a loooong time now, something even Trump has addressed.
Then you must be voting for Ben Carson for his integrity.
I dunno, I thought that was a pretty, hic, good post....hic!
;)
Well, I’m obviously not voting, but I can tell you why I would vote for Trump if I could.
Trump is saying all of the right things. He is saying he will put up the wall, put in practices that will cause self-deportation, deport the rest, bring business back to the country, stop the lousy bad-for-America deals, rid the world of ISIS, do something to correct the trade deficit, is pro-life (regardless of what he has supported in the past), will prosecute the Clinton Crime Family, will stop immigration that could hurt the country, etc.
Now, there’s no guarantee that he’ll do all of these things. However, what I look at is the fact that politicians (most of whom are lawyers) have been saying a lot of the right things for years, and ALL OF THEM have basically done NOTHING to follow through.
Trump has such a record of success, and a very big ego. This tells me that he would be determined to do everything in his power to follow through on what he has talked about. I can’t imagine him getting into office and NOT trying to accomplish what he’s set out to do, for the sake of his own reputation.
So, that’s it in a nutshell. The politicians have gotten you into the mess you’re in - it could be that a brash, egotistical, politically INCORRECT, humdinger of a businessman might get you on the right track, regardless of who he has given to and what he has said in years gone by.
You have nothing to lose. Rubio is bad news, Cruz is iffy, and would never get elected, and God forbid you get Hitlery or Sanders. You have no choice.
He’s said many times that he gave money to candidates on both side, but more to Republicans. Nothing new here.
There may be other reasons to be cautious about Trump but this is not one of them. You must consider the context under which those donations were made.
Ask him.
He’s said that donations to democrats were to gain access. He’s said it more than once. Something to the effect of;”They
‘d call me and ask for a donation and I’d donate because it gave me access”
He admits it and it is a reasonable explanation for the donations to democrats in a state that is dominated by demodogs
BTW I am supporting Mr Trump.
It’s interesting that over the last 26 years that Trump has given twice as much to Republicans than he has to Democrats.
To answer your question I believe he has said that donations were a cost of doing business. He’s been pretty upfront about it.
“Ask Bill Gates what happens to you and your company if you refuse to play politics.”
Bill Gates is another of the billionaire Liberals and monopolists operating an anti-conservative cartel. Microsoft Corporation should rightfully have forfeited its right to be a corporation and been dissolved, many of its patents and copyrights canceled, and with its remaining assets being auctioned to recompense its customers and the victims of its monopolist restraints on free trade.
His inheritance was $40MM split 5 ways in the family.
So you’re saying he has not increased his wealth...
Cruz Core Math
LOL, you are letting you emotions blur you thinking skill.
Tax returns do not show wealth, financial statements do.
Even corporate balance sheets would be better then a tax return which shows various type of income.
When I was younger I would buy my way out of "problems" with money, lawyers, judges and cash in plain paper bags.
Never having been bought, I felt virtuous, much like the john and the hooker. Being very righteous, I would always look down my nose at "those crooked bastards" and never considered that I was even remotely tainted.
Youth and alcohol and money and drugs can screw up your moral compass, so that you can justify any perverted behavior. It took a long time and many hard lessons before I came to some semblance of normal.
Nice one dig
Yeah, because we ALL fly around on custom 757's donchaknow!
And politicians who vote for one another’s bills don’t pay to play? “You vote for mine, and I’ll vote for yours.”
Money’s not exchanged, per se, but power is.
