As far as I can tell, Donald Trump is an unprincipled vulgarian. He would make a big show of deporting illegal aliens, only to "let the good ones back in." He supports single-payer healthcare. Before he flipped on the issue, he wanted to admit tens of thousands of Syrian "refugees." He has very un-American strongman tendencies.
Yet he's leading in the Republican primaries. So please help me understand: How would President Trump be better than, say, President Cruz?

What is your basis for that charge? Because the Ted Cruz I have seen is the lone stalwart standing up against the establishment while having insults, lies, and derision heaped upon him. So help me understand here. What evidence do you have that shows Ted Cruz is a “phony establishment hack”?
Maybe your saying I will be very delighted to see Trump stomped again in Super Tuesday, heck yea.

Here are some (not all) reasons I have for supporting Trump:
1) All other viable candidates (every last one) have demonstrated a willingness to sell out the interests of We the People in exchange for campaign donations.
2) All other viable candidates are Ivy League lawyers, with absolutely NO real world managerial experience.
3) Trump scares the daylights out of Mexico and China. He’s actually threatened to put our national interests first in trade negotiations.
4) Trump scares the daylights out of the fifth-columnists in the “liberal” media.
5) Trump aggravates the professional loser talking-head class who have hijacked and redefined “conservatism” to be synonymous with nonsense such as neoconservative foreign policy, and “open borders” ideology.
6) Trump has shown a willingness and ability to take the fight to the other side not seen in the Republican party for 20 years.
7) Trump puts purple states like PA back in play for our side. None of the other candidates actually have as clear a path to winning the general election.

I like him because in the history of Free Republic there has never been so many vanity posts until the Trump campaign which means I do not have to click on the links and contend with pop up ads.
This one is an EASY one to answer.....because there will be NO “President Cruz”! There’s a better chance of spotting a unicorn on the freeway! I like Cruz but now I’m a realist. The U.S. has dramatically changed (for the worst) and the majority of uninformed “voting public” are going to vote emotions- only! How do you think we got Obama- TWICE?!! No true conservative has a chance in today’s environment (i.e. the United Socialist States of America). Reagan himself- resurrected- could NEVER get elected today! It’s time to come to that realization (especially after Tuesday). Past RINOs have been too WEAK and any true Conservative would get destroyed and made a bad caricature in the General Election, especially two weeks before the election when most of the idiots (i.e. “Independents”) are paying attention. Trump is just....who knows? With that being said, if its down to Trump vs Hillary then I’ll vote Trump!

I read the whole piece. Nowhere in there did Ted Cruz indicate that Roberts was his pick nor did he offer his own opinion on what kind of Justice Roberts would make. Instead, he cited what other people had to say about Roberts. Enough with the lies already.
So when Trump says he will expedite the return of illegals back into the US, you believe him, right? Or when he says he will raise tax rates for hedge fund managers, you believe that too, right? How about when Trump says he will have government make direct payments to hospitals for our health care costs, do you believe him when he says that? Or how about when Trump says that Planned Parenthood does wonderful things? Is he telling the truth?
Planned Parenthood will never be acceptable because its institutional DNA is eugenic and deathist. PP cannot be reformed, any more than communism or Islam. Even without surgical abortion, it would dispense abortifacient drugs and implant abortifacient devices. It would continue to corrupt youngsters with the lie that uncommitted sexual promiscuity is normal and healthy, and that human life is something we can summon or dismiss according to our convenience.

If “the business of America is business”, why do we keep sending lawyers to congress and the White house? Why must every President since Ike have to be a politician first? Trump may start a new trend if he is successful, of course I can ask my magic 8 ball for the answer before hand, but I think it may be worth the gamble, to have someone different for a change.
