Ted Cruz torches Donald Trump for 9 minutes in a post-debate interview

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz kept attacking his rival Donald Trump after they faced off onstage at CNN's Republican presidential debate on Thursday night.

In an extended interview on Fox News, Cruz went after the Republican frontrunner.

"I think that what became very clear is that Donald Trump is not the right candidate to go head-to-head with Hillary Clinton in November," Cruz said. "That on policy issue after policy issue, his position is identical to Hillary."

Cruz cast Trump's policies as in line with those of "liberal Democrats." Trump has previously called himself a Democrat before running for the Republican presidential nomination.

During the same Fox interview, Cruz then hit Trump with a flurry of additional attacks: ...

WOW!...I didn't expect Cruz to support Trump but I never expected him to fall in line with Rubio/GOPe.

Just watch a large number of his posters on FR take the same pledge of Rubio over Trump.

Do you have a comment about Cruz supporting Rubio over Trump after the debate? (that is the topic of this thread)

Ted Cruz, by sending these "Voting Violation" mailers, in my opinion, violated the following federal election laws. Many States have similar laws.

The following is an image of a mailer Senator Ted Cruz sent out intimidating and threatening voters. It contains voter information and the information of the voter's neighbors.

It threatens "follow up notices" with no doubt information about if the voter voted in the caucus.

It intends to intimidate a person into voting by threatening to disclosure to the neighbors the person's voting record.

What does Ted Cruz expect the person receiving this notice to do to their neighbors for not voting as he demands?

What might happen to the voter if the neighbors are informed the voter has not voted as Ted Cruz expects?

These are direct threats and intimidations in violation of federal election, civil rights, and postal laws.

The following PDF document link outlines the federal election laws and the government's position on such matters for the purposes of prosecution.

Federal Prosecution of Election Offenses Seventh Edition, May 2007

The following sections are from the above document. I've condensed and paraphrased the document to the important words.

42 U.S. Code § 1973gg-10 - Criminal penalties (violation of election law)
A person in any election for Federal office knowingly and willfully intimidates, threatens, or coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any person for registering to vote, or voting, or attempting to register or vote; urging or aiding any person to register to vote, to vote, or to attempt to register or vote; shall be fined or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.

18 U.S. Code § 594 - Intimidation of voters
Whoever intimidates, threatens, coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for the office of President or Vice President shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

I thought both Cruz, and Rubio especially, really hammered Trump on some things. These two are real studs, respectively, legal and political.

But you know what they say: Age and treachery, uh ... trump youth and enthusiasm 24/7.
Both these young guys have bright futures, but prolly not this year.

What is really encouraging to me is the thought of Trump putting the wood to—no, scratch that ... paddling Hillary.
hmmm, I guess that’ll work.
He stood between Cruz and Rubio and held his own. He’s going to demolish the coughing, screeching, veracity-challenged Hildabeast. Depending on Tuesday of course. It might be one of the youngsters.

Teddy has crashed and burned in his presidential bid and in the process has gotten himself off the short list for VP or AG so he’s just screwed at this point. He will have to return to his lonely seat in the Senate where he is going exactly nowhere. I thought he was supposed to be so brilliant.

The one bearing false witness here is you.

This is what Cruz actually said:

CRUZ: So, I’ve released five years of tax returns already. We will have two more years available tomorrow. And I would note that this question really goes — you know, Donald says he’s being audited.

Well, I would think that would underscore the need to release those returns. If he has said something that was false and that an audit is going to find was fraudulent, the voters need to know.

Trump will fight and defend the nation. Rubio and Cruz are the traitors who will sell out the country for a few donations and a little power. Cruz will not recover from last night. Some Cruz supporters may go to Rubio and some will abound on Cruz for Trump. Cruz may survive the Texas primary but is now on a downward spiral. Rubio will gain some Cruz supporters and more establishment votes but I do not see where he wins a state next week. After that the momentum will be all Trumps.

I have to agree with you Rita, you are spot on with what you are saying...

Big money bags like Wall Street; Goldman Sachs; Special Interest groups; Super Packs are all for CFR, which Cruz and his wife are deeply into, for TTP, which Cruz and Paul Ryan helped write for Obuma; for TPA, which is another Cruz support, to make this Country into another New World Order, and to heck with what the American Voters want...

Since ‘poppy’ Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Baby Bush, obuma have been in office I hear the sounds of ‘we need a Constant Conservative’ when will we get a person who cares about Us, the American Citizens? When will we get someone who follows the Constitution? When will we get someone who will make us safe? When will we get someone who can bring our jobs back to us and help build America's economy back to where it was with Reagan? When, When, When, and now we have ‘the WHEN’ and there is a man that loves America and it's people, can see they are hurting, and what happens, the GOPe; RINO base; DNC and RNC don't want this man...why? Because he IS for America and he IS for the American People and their gravy trains will be dried up...and they want to go back to the ‘same old, same old,’ with two Cubans, first term Senators that are snakes in the grass, to follow who is giving them millions and millions of dollars to follow the ‘money bags rule of law’ and here are the American people again getting screwed...

Well not this TIME, we are the Trump Supporters and we are deciding this election...we are winning States one by one, and when was the last time we won anything? Many years ago...no thanks to the ‘Right Scoop’ people that come on here with their vile and insulting remarks to us, how we have become Nazis (even though we don't like the Bushes who was involved with the Nazis) and how stupid we are (where 90% of us have our own businesses and college degrees) and how dare us talk against the ‘money bags express Cuban boys’ and is either one of them even legal to be in the Senate?

So say what you people will, we are supporting Trump...PERIOD!!!

Good point! I personally know about VAT tax every time I buy my Pen-Pal in England of 53 years a gift. It’s horrible and I buy from Amazon UK to help customs fee.

Let’s cut the BS; The majority of St. Rafael fanatics hate Trump because:

1. He’s wealthy.
2. He does whatever he wants.
3. His children are also successful.

The envy is so green, Crayola’s making a new crayon with the color. It’s called “Tedtanic Green”, in honor of the Titanic, who St. Rafael is sinking even faster than.

It’s crystal clear right now that there’s only one candidate that’s going to do anything to stop immigration. His name is Donald Trump.

The Cruzbots are truly boxed into a corner thanks to St. Rafael’s admission last night.

FWIW, someone on the stage did speak out against identity politics. That is Dr. Carson. He actually had some pretty good comments last night. Didn’t look like he wanted anything to do with the ambush.

I thought he was supposed to be principled. He is a politician and he made a deal with Rubio. The corollary of his endorsement of Rubio is that now Rubio is the best attainable choice, and the GOPe will probably reward Cruz by allowing him to remain in the Senate without campaign funding.

Morning,

Have seen that stated several times. When asked where it could be located as to source or link. No response.

Would you happen to have a link or source?

Thanks.

He continued: “Marco is not my enemy. Marco and I are friends. Marco and I would both make a much better candidate and a much better president than would Donald. I like Donald personally. I mean, he’s a charming guy, though he can turn on you in an instant.”

Cruz points out that Trump is being audited, which is often (not always) a sign of tax cheating - but the fact that Trump also refuses to release his returns (despite saying he would) at the same time shows he likely IS hiding something.

Your analogy would fit if the person in question was specifically being investigated was being investigated for beating his wife, while keeping those records hidden.
