Michael Moore on Flint: 'Don't Send Us Bottles of Water'
nbc new york ^ | 2-1-2016 | AP

Posted on 02/03/2016 1:33:10 PM PST by Citizen Zed

"The reason you can't help is that you cannot reverse the irreversible brain damage that has been inflicted upon every single child in Flint," Moore wrote. "The damage is permanent. There is no medicine you can send, no doctor or scientist who has any way to undo the harm done to thousands of babies, toddlers and children (not to mention their parents). They are ruined for life, and someone needs to tell you the truth about that."

Moore also called for the removal and arrest of Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, urging fans to sign the #ArrestGovSnyder petition, which as of Monday had 564,297 signatures.

The people of Flint should say whether or not they want bottled water - not Moore. Something tells me they do want it and how!

Moore is a fat, zany Marxist tycoon who lives in a very large house that probably has Evian water flowing through the pipes.

LOL. I always thought it was Flint. I guess Moore is trying to build up his working class cred by having it listed as Flint.

So, what is the actual concentration of lead in the water? I heard it was 13 parts per billion. EPA considers 15 PPB to be the point that concern is raised.

I saw a map that showed the levels at a bunch of locations. One was as high as 6300 ppb. Certainly an issue. But, another location, less than a block away shows 21 ppb, just over the threshold of action. I think that rules out that the lead in question is in the city’s water pipes, rather a great amount is in the household.

The Governor is not the guy who chose to not perform standard regular testing. Moore should take a look at the local water authority for his vitriol.

Flint, MI is what happens when you vote Democrats into office knowing that they are thieves, but hoping they will steal a little for you, too.

There’s been no tax money for decades in Flint to maintain their water lines because it’s been stolen. It was used to hire cousins and girlfriends into do-nothing city jobs.

Go ask your politicians for a drink of water.

Congratulations on falling for the latest liberal faked story. 5 parts per billion... so in an eight ounce glass of water, that’s 0.00000004 lead. 4 glasses a day for a 365 day year, you’re up to 0.0000584 ounces of lead. That is 1.656 micrograms. Or the typical exposure from 1 hour of playing on a dirt field.

“Why do you have to make fun of him without reading what he has to say? “

Because he is the ultimate hate filled buffoon, and has been for ages, who lies like most democrats and has never said anything intelligent. And he is a classic hypocrite, who lived in a lavish Michigan home, and constantly criticizes “rich republicans”. You could make a documentary about his hypocrisy.

Haven't there already been cases of lead poisoning? And don't all the pipes that carried water from a bad source flowed through have to be replaced?

The effects are cumulative. It's not the same for someone who goes to Flint and has a glass of water as it is for people who drink several glasses a day of it for years.

MM deserves scorn and ridicule in perpetuity. Democrats caused the problem so he and yourself should take it up with them.

The problem isn’t that Moore is right on the harmed people and the permanent damage.

The problem is that Moore and the Liberal left are trying to put the blame for this on the Republican Governor! The Governor is the one who made arrangements for the bottled water, but Moore wants the Governor to PAY for the CITIES failures!

The Governor put together a cost review committee that told cities that they needed to find other water sources, than their current over-priced water sources.

Flint City and their water board (ALL DEMOCRATS) took a review and report on using the Flint River water instead of the over-priced Detroit water. INCLUDED IN THAT REPORT were details that stated they would have to upgrade their treatment center and process. With the cost committees recommendation and approval from the state EPA, THE CITY decided to change water sources.

THE CITY FAILED TO DO THEIR PART OF MAKING THINGS SAFE, but Moore and the Liberal loons are trying to hang this on the Republicans and the common-sense, cost-cutting recommendations as the reason for the harmed people. He is doing ALL of this as a publicity stunt to harm Republicans; Moore doesn’t give a DAMN about those people in Flint!

And THAT is why Moore deserves every bit of ridicule that he gets.

Moore deserves ridicule for everything he does.

If the Gov knew about the issue then he DESERVES to be held responsible. As do all of the others involved.

Regardless of political party.

They didn’t fail to make it safe. They knowingly connected the city to a water source containing lead. They knowingly allowed it to continue. They knowingly allowed people to be harmed, perhaps severely.

Its breathtaking the criminal negligence involved in this case. People should be hung up by their short hairs and beat with hot irons.

It's appalling all around. The rest of society is going to have to pay for the lives of all the people who drank that swill. It does seem that Flint's leadership shouldn't be in charge of anything. It isn't just Flint. Too many localities are electing people who aren't capable of problem solving.

All that being true, it doesn't change the fact that bottles of water are not going to make the problem go away.

Trouble is Moore is blaming the wrong person.
It wasn’t Gov. Snyder who made the water changes.
It wasn’t Snyder who refused to pay for the water treatment that would have prevented the whole mess.

If Lard Butt wants to jail someone he should start with the Flint city council and the mayor.
It begins and ends there.

But uber liberal Cellulite Mike can’t imagine a democrat taking the heat for their decisions.
Much easier to blame a republican who never made the decision or was aware of the problem.

Besides, Mikey has been out of the news so long he is irrelevant.
This is the perfect opportunity for him to get four or five minutes of news coverage.

Wasn't Michael "Dirigible" Moore a child in Flint?

On this, Michael Moore is correct. Bottles of water aren't going to solve the problem.

No, they won't solve damage done, but they can help bridge the gap to a better, more permanent solution. The way he says it implies he wishes to keep them reliant on the contaminated water, instead of a stop-gap measure until things can be permanently fixed.

Haven't there already been cases of lead poisoning? And don't all the pipes that carried water from a bad source flowed through have to be replaced?

A) The entire thing is that Flint decided to no longer subsidize Detroit's water system and went to the river as a source. Liberals hate it when liberals don't follow what they're told to do, hence the 'crisis.'

B) It is Flint Michigan - most of the houseses are older construction, environmental lead is one of the highest in the nation. In the 'danger' homes, the highest recorded lead levels were 15 ppb, but that appears to be tainted by the home - a second test at the water main showed 4 ppb.

Again, this is an invented catastrophe. Oh, and for comparison, 57% of the tested taps in Washington DC are over 5 ppb, but I'm pretty sure we're not doing water bottle drops into the capitol.
