I had a ‘98 Ranger 4x4 - loved it. Great truck.

F.O.R.D. = Found On Road Dead / Fixed or Repaired Daily might this be the problem?

I had the Mazda version (1994 B3000) and I loved it. Sadly, my Explorer is not as reliable.

Nobody wants small vehicles today, everybody wants very large vehicles these days. I don’t understand it. Function is what I concern myself, not style.

Still driving my 97 Ranger, although I did have to replace the engine at 270,000 miles.

Fuel economy on Rangers virtually mirrored F-150s. The Ranger was dropped in the interest of CAFE, same with the Colorado. The Colorado in now back but Government Motors may have the insider CAFE standards. The only thing holding GM together is trucks.

Don’t look to Ford to bring back the Ranger, there was talk of it as a diesel platform, but with Tier 4 and the collapse of light truck diesels not so much.

Car salesmen are the slime of the earth. This dealership institution is insane. Their favorite is “I really stuck it in someone and broke it off in them today”. They screw each other as bad as they screw us and the sales managers screw them. Most of them do it because they can’t get a real job.

Don't know if I'd want to buy a new one, anyway.
My current 2003 4.0L replaced my older 2001 4.0L last year - love these trucks.
A very popular truck, there are lots of them out there. And you can put a heap of miles on 'em.

Don’t buy DNC/UAW products (Ford/GM). Buy American made, non-union, American loving companies like TOYOTA. You’ll never look back.

Real men don’t allow themselves to be seen in little girl truck, nor do they drive Ford which require too much maintenance heh.

I wasn’t even aware they had discontinued them. I know other manufacturers still make smaller trucks.

Fuel is cheap, go full size, go Chevy 3500 Duramax heh

I have a 2000 Ranger, extended cab, that has 77,000 miles on
It.Just recently had to put a new clutch in it, as it is almost completely driven in town.

It would take an exceptional offer to make me think about selling it.

Saw someplace yesterday on the web (Can’t remember where) that the Ranger was coming back and there was going to be a Raptor version. I think it said 2017.

The Ford Ranger is being manufactured in Thailand with a diesel engine. I have a 2010 Wildtrack and am very pleased with it.

http://www.ford.co.th/en/trucks/new-ranger

As I understand there are US GVT issues with using that engine in the USA. In addition the Ranger is about 80-90% the size of an F series.

Consumer demand will not overcome what the Government decides you should have.

Ford is bringing the Ranger back in 2018. My hubby said he thought it would be like the South American version. My DH and SIL worked/works for Ford. In fact we are visiting with them in China now. He’s working here for Ford..

I miss my 1994 Ford Ranger 4x4. Last year, with 98,000 original miles on it, I gave it to my grown daughter in Oregon. That truck will probably run another 20 years.

Buy a tacoma. Nothing else is even comparable in value for your money. Many are made in America, too.
