‘Here’s the deal Cruz wants with the Democrats. It’s the deal Reagan wanted with the Soviet Union. We win. You lose.’

I look at this slate of candidates, and I don’t see a one of them who could lead sailors to a whore house.

It does seem his schtick is more a campaign for Commerce Secretary than President.

Sen. Mitch McConnell knows how to make deals as well as Trump

Really? Ol' Turtleface knows how to capitulate to socialists. I haven't seen any real dealmaking from him.

This article makes a good point. I have no doubt that Trump knows how to make deals, and that is not inherently a bad thing. It is a good skill to have, and it is thw single largest concern I have about Cruz.

The problem is that whether a deal is "good" is entirely subjective because it depends upon what your goals are. The concern I have about a non-conservative like Trump is that he'll cut deals that he thinks are great (hence he got what he wanted as a negotiator), but that I'll hate because it isn't good from a conservative, small-government perspective.

I also am a bit worried that Trump won't be willing to walk away from a bad deal because he won't want to ruin his rep as a great deal maker. Sometimes, as Fiorina said, you really do just have to walk away from the table until the underlying factors change.

What in Cruz’s background makes him qualified to be president?

Sen. Mitch McConnell knows how to make deals as well as Trump”

I think this is the question.

I think when Trump talks about making deals, he means getting his way.

I think when McConnell and Ryan talk about making deals, they mean giving obama everything he wants.

I don’t know the true answer to this important question, but I do think there is merit to the point that at least conceptually Trump is talking about something very different from what GOPe politicians mean when they “reach across the aisle”.

To put it a bit differently, for Trump it’s about winning; for McConnell it’s about losing.

What hogwash! Trump’s deals will all be good deals because HE WROTE THE BOOK ON DEALING! Trump is so good at dealing making that he makes deals WITH HIMSELF. He supports abortion up until he wants to personally advance himself by running for president, then he makes a deal with himself to NOT support it anymore! Is ANY other candidate that good at deal making? NO! This is a GREAT deal for conservatives because NOW he doesn’t support abortion any more. We win!

Every deal Trump makes is bound to be a winner! Trump is *stubborn* and if he can negotiate with HIMSELF to readily change his positions and WIN, then that should be enough for ALL OF US!

Winning is the most important thing! GO TRUMP!

You mean like the 'leader' who was vice chairman on the National Republican Senatorial Committee and sat on his hands... watching while McConnell and company screwed over the voters in Mississippi?

I would vote for a leader but there are not any running. Because of that, a dealer would suffice.

Only relevant question is who has the best chance to win the general. Trump. The rest lose to Hillary.
