I think this is the question.

I think when Trump talks about making deals, he means getting his way.

I think when McConnell and Ryan talk about making deals, they mean giving obama everything he wants.

I don’t know the true answer to this important question, but I do think there is merit to the point that at least conceptually Trump is talking about something very different from what GOPe politicians mean when they “reach across the aisle”.

To put it a bit differently, for Trump it’s about winning; for McConnell it’s about losing.

The problem for me is that what Trump would consider a win, and what conservative might consider a win, may vary substantially

I really worry that he's a big-government guy at heart.
