They voted for communists for mayor and governor.
Ted Cruz isn’t campaigning for liberal voters.
A gold mine or fool’s gold? From a state whose governor told the world ‘conservatives need to leave the state’?
The fact in my opinion is that there was or never is a chance for Ted to get the New York vote, period. I like Ted, but this just isn’t in the cards.
There is a chance that Donald, however, could draw some New York votes away.
In the end, it won’t do anything good for Ted in New York in my book. It was a complete error on his part in my opinion regardless of the sympathy I have for him. An error of bad advice IMO.
One word answer: Dorkio.
Do you really think a town that allows peeing and masturbating in the streets is going to vote for Cruz?
I think it is simple.
Cruz is imitating what others have said and how they act... Reagan and other famous lines. He converted “San Francisco values” into “NY values.” This expression dates back to Frank Riggs, but has been used by Jeane Kirkpatrick, Newt Gingrich and Bill O’Reilly.
I don’t think it was a good idea for Ted. It seems voters are looking for something authentic this season and not a replica.
Because they will vote Democrat anyway, and the rest of America thinks their values are for S&$@ ?
It was a bold gamble. It didn't play out as he expected.
What it did do, I think, is give Trump a shot... granted, a small shot... at winning the state. If nothing else, the D's may have to invest resources to defend the state. It probably bolstered Trump's shot at other states in the region.
Long time until November; we'll have to see.
Republicans have singled out San Francisco, California as a whole, Chicago and the Northeastern cities and states all my life. It’s an easy comparison between the two parties and the values and principles. If comparing DeBlasio’s New York with Texas or Iowa is offensive, we’ve gotten to the point where even Republicans are offended by everything.
Because he would have zero chance of winning there, but possibly could gain votes elsewhere I the country by disliking an unpopular place.
Trump said no Evangelicals come out of Cuba.
That’s why.
He said no Conservatives come out of NY.
Trump doesn’t even know what an Evangelical is and yet
he said he is one in an Iowa speech.
But we don’t care what Trump says. We just want a reality TV star for pres so we can be entertained.
Why does Cruz do anything he does? He really doesn’t make sense to me (a whole mess of contradictory behaviors- claims vs. facts). Maybe he’s socially inept. Which I can sympathize with, but it seems kinda dangerous-risky in a president, vp, Sec’y of Defense, or SOS.
For the same reason that Hillary is not going to waste any time campaigning in Texas.
She just drops in occasionally to rake in some bucks from rich trial lawyers and then leaves as fast as she can.
I think he meant “Wall Street Values”. At least that is what he should have said.
Thanks for posting this. Mr. Chapman makes the mistake that many others do/did. You see, Cruz didn’t insult/offend/comment about New York values. He pointed out the language of Trump years ago. Many want to slay the messenger and not address the message. It is a fact that Trump was correct - New Yorkers in the City favor gay marriage, gays in military, and partial birth abortion. There is no greater line of arguing than to use the words/positions of the opponent. By the way, has anyone even asked Trump about his comment? Does he still believe in them?

Why do New Yorkers insult the rest of us?
Why not insult this gaggle of smart asses who think they are on a strata above we po’ old Southern folks and they haven’t much use for the Midwest, as well.
Now, in Californicate it’s an entirely different matter. North Easterners dig those left coast perverts the most.
Because it plays well everywhere else and NYers are not going to vote for him anyway?
NY voted for Reagan in 1984, but now Cruz is so certain he cannot win, that he is dismissive?
It would be one thing to do so quietly, by not devoting resources there.
It is quite another, to openly do so.
