My Personal Moratorium On Trump v Cruz Arguments
vanity ^ | Jan 21, 2016 | vanity

Posted on 01/21/2016 7:45:35 AM PST by samtheman

As of now, and until after the Iowa Caucus, I will no longer engage in any Trump v Cruz arguments in FR. I just want to put this little vanity note up to make it clear that my silence does not mean I have given up.

I support Trump for President.

I support Palin for endorsing Trump.

Some of my reasons are on my about page.

Keep an eye out for the sleeper posters. They are here to agitate.

They are easy to identify. Follow the following steps:

I've only checked a few out recently, but it does seem like some older Freepers have suddenly woken up.

There is something about Presidential elections that brings out the Rip Van Freepers.

I agree with you...I would support either Trump or Cruz ....as really they are the only two choices.....

but Cruz has a big lead weight around his ankle with the birth issue..

Cruz should of been out in front of it before he got in... well better now than after if hi is the nominee

After eight years of our side going after Obama on the same issue....

No matter how you parse it (and I’ve seen some parsing here of late by the Cuze side that would even embarrassed Bill Clinton ).....we’re going to look hypocritical putting Cruz up...

The general public is not going to give a rats butt about obscure nuances of the mother’s age or some other silly thing.... it’ll just going look like slick slimy hypocritical politics as usual BS to the average voter

The dem will beat us to death on that one issue alone

I am for Trump but if he falls I would gladly vote for Cruz.

I’m tired of it all too. Have turned off the TV. Listen to Rush; that’s all.

I’m supporting Ted Cruz. Plan to vote for him. What happens will happen .. and there’s nothing more I can do about it.

I’m much too busy .. looking to possibly move to another state .. requires a lot of planning. Plus, I’m getting ready to go full blast into writing my next book. That’s more than enough to keep me busy.

I’m glad to see Sarah Palin back into politics. She is very smart .. and she will add a lot to the endeavor. I’m only sad because she didn’t choose Ted. But, it’s her choice.

I’ll be checking on FR .. just to see what’s going on .. but I can’t spend as much time here, and accomplish all that’s required before the end of this year.

Funny - I was thinking the same thing. It’s getting bad around here - time to take a step back.

I agree with you, either would be good and if Trump wins I wish that birther lawsuit finishes so he could have a Cruz VP or Supreme Court Justice.

I agree. Now not only is Palin, for example, attacked again but right here on FR - and so is her family.

If one is to attack family members, why not go after Marco Rubio? His ex-con brother-in-law convicted of drug dealing is living with his mother, the same one for whom he wrote, using his officials stationary while in Florida rep., a strong letter of recommendation? In December when Rubio was asked about receiving money from the guy, he refused to answer.

The sad thing is that no matter what you say about either one of them you get jumped. If you say Trump is doing a good job getting people’s attention you are attacked for being an anti-Cruz Trumpbot. If you say you like what Cruz had to say about energy you are attacked for being a Cruzer who hates Trump. And most of the time the attacks don’t even address what you said, it’s just personal attacks on the speaker. “Screw the message, let’s just kill the messenger.”

I think Cruz can help Trump with conservative government principles, and be a great VP setup for Pres. 8 years from now.

I used to think Cruz would be a good VP pick. But now I'm thinking the country would be better served if he were on the Supreme Court.

Trump/Cruz
Trump/West

Either works for me.

I get it, in so far as if you read comments on one Cruz or Trump thread you have read them all it is the same every thread.

Even if you are critical in the most civil manner possible you are toast but I criticize anyway even my own candidate if I think he deserves it. It is kind of like watching wrestling it looks brutal but they are all professional at absorbing body slams and chairs smashed over their head, minds are made up at least for the first leg of this race. For the observer now it has devolved into pure arm chair wrestling entertainment enjoy it.

Go ahead get your own licks in, put a pile driver on someone at the end of it all nobody really hates the other guy on FR, even though they may accuse you of being a hater as a conservative you should already be use to it, yeah the hatred seems hard coming from within but I believe that will pass, all this nonsense is not new it is kind of a tradition and each time it seems worst than the last, kind of like a knock down drag out family reunion every four years.

No. Matter. What.

Slow down there, turbo! If it means electing another RINO POS like Rubio or Yeb, then no, not no matter what. That's what has gotten us into trouble to begin with.

Trump/West

Yes!

I see a big voter turnout for that ticket.

I will no longer engage in any Trump v Cruz arguments in FR

some people (for example O'reilly) enjoy arguing and debating as an end in itself because it makes them feel more alive

Oh wow. I don’t remember, now, who it was (or if it happened with more than one poster) but there was a gap- several years long, in their posts. And I thought that was weird, but thought no more about it.
