That’s exactly what the ASPCA intends to do.Pull at the heart strings for donations, then give something like 93% to progressive causes that have nothing to do with animals.they are like PETA,they suck.
Give to your local SPCA, or dog pound ,rescues, etc.

That poor little dog. What kind of nightmare has he lived through? Very sweet how he learns to enjoy the affection.

Hah; got you beat.
My old Jack died on the 30’th of December after spending 18 years with his daddy; (still crying about that), he was a rescue that they said was viscous, RIIGHT!
My other 6 are all rescues from other horrible places that would have killed them if the old squishy, softy, sucker, pushover for those big brown eyes hadn't come along and fallen in love at first site.
Penny is an older girl (don't know how old), Rosie is a pretty young girl, George is (he thinks) still a pup, Sophie is growing into a beautiful young lady (she's a nightmare), Honey Bunny is taking on the leadership role after my BIG JACK had to go to the Rainbow Bridge to wait for his daddy, and Billy is still the "Fearless Bear Hunter".
Love all my boys and girls; miss Big Jack something fierce (67 year old Marine crying like a 13 year old girl).
IF THEIR AIN'T NO DOGS IN HEAVEN, I AIN'T GOIN!!!

My dream job is finding people who have abused animals and... being in charge of their fate. I won’t go into detail.

I've gotten over 40 cats off the street into no-kill shelters or homes. Two of those taken into homes were mine. I dunno, cats just find me. The last rescue was 2 days before Hurricane Sandy. Someone apparently dumped a 3 week old baby kitten in the backyard. I heard it crying, immediately realized it was a baby kitten distress cry and ran down to get it. I took it to a pet store I knew (all shelters were full or not answering their phone) who would keep it until it was of an adoptable age and then adopt it out.

How anyone could have dumped that adorable kitten is beyond me. And how anyone could have abused that poor pup until it was so terrified of humans is beyond belief. I surely would have visited a great deal of wrath on that subhuman, given the opportunity. I am sure that the subhuman who abused that baby dog would have to undergo an entire gauntlet of horrific and wholly deserved beatdown from enraged FReepers!

Well I would be very happy if I never had to adopt another dog, if the two I have would live as long as I do.

Very nice of you to do, and I love cats.

I imagine you knew this wasn’t the situation with your backyard kitten, but at that age, in a likely kitten-stashing place,a mother kitty could sometimes be in the midst of moving them to a new hideaway.

As a cat lover, trust me, I would have known if there were any litters in the vicinity of my home. The backyard is devoid of any tall vegetation except for some trees, and there were no litters or mama cats there. This kitten was walking by itself down a sidewalk which abuts the backyard, which makes me think some piece of trash stopped their car on the street and set the kitten loose on the sidewalk, poor baby. It cost me $100 to convince the pet store to keep the kitten for a few weeks until it was old enough to adopt out. Also, it had a slight gummy eye, easily treated by a few days of opthalmic antibiotic drops. I didn't have room for a third cat, otherwise I would have kept it. It was just a little white ball of fur with a grey tabby head, tail and saddle. Soooo cute!

Or if you have time to volunteer with a rescue group you can always help do their runs. They are usually short legs of travel to help get rescues to a different locale. Or foster. A little help goes a long way.

Yes, I wasn’t meaning to doubt you—and you clearly have an eye and a heart for helping out the felines.

I’m not much of a dog person but that is heartbreaking.

I saw this the other day and it broke my heart. I can’t watch it again. Makes me want to find the people who did it and abuse them!

That is the most heart-wrenching thing that I have ever seen. Thank God those people saved that poor darling.

I think it’s impossible for someone to abuse animals and be a worthwhile human.

I agree and I will take it one step farther, I don’t even like people who don’t like animals.

In certain circles I am known as The Dog Lady! ; )

This dog will cling to the next person that shows him love. Whoever adopts and loves that dog I can guarantee will have the most loyal dog they have ever had.
