It's a brand new year, America, and the U.S. Postal Service has just introduced its annual batch of 2016 stamps.
Among the stamps is a purple-and-gold stamp celebrating the two most significant festivals in Islam: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
The stamp's gold calligraphy (by Mohamed Zakaria of Arlington, Va.) reads Eidukum mumbarak, which translates as: "May your Eid be bountiful (or blessed)."
The stamp features no actual imagery other than the calligraphy and a few words in English.

Perfect!
First Eid stamp was issued in 2001 before the Sept 11 attacks. This design is from 2011, not from this year.
I was thinking about the movie Forbidden Planet.
Monsters from the EID.
well so far no one has tried to sell me one of these.. If they did they would hear from me!!
Well they were responsible for some of the words in the Marine Corps Hymn, no?
So splain to me why nothing is struck out on the USA flag/fireworks stamp. Nor is USA struck out on the holiday stamps I looked at that have the same USA/FOREVER positioning. Sorry your excuse is not born out by the stamps I have in hand.
It’s standard procedure when the USPS publishes images of stamps to mar the denomination. It’s supposed to be an anti-counterfeiting measure. The actual stamps won’t have the line through the word Forever.
I love to send a message with these stamps. If I would pay a charge card bill to weakling lib companies like Macy's (I don't patronize any of 'em) or any of my dopey liberal friends (I don't have many of 'em) I'd use the American flag stamp on one side, my red, white and blue Disabled Vets address label on the other...and I also affix one or two patriotic sticky things I have in my stash on the back that I think would irritate them ...including my liberal Dem mailman, LOL.

I won’t be purchasing any or using them. Case closed.
enemas???
So where are the Catholic Stamps?

Sickening islamist subterfuge.

Thanks, FRiends, for taking time to explain.
Sounds good to me.
Before they issued the Elvis stamp, the Post Office had a national vote, young Elvis or Vegas Elvis.
I voted for Vegas Elvis. Young Elvis won.
LOL nice!
No, we’ve had similar stamps before. Our post office couldn’t give them away, no one would accept them along with the Malcolm x stamps.
Anybody who still denies that Obama is a Muslim is in willful denial.
Muslim stamp...
Just for grins, has the USPO been also issuing Christian stamps? I don’t mean secular Christmas or Easter stuff, I mean the Christian stuff? Just curious.
Not much call for the Kwanzaa stamps either, I would think.
