I like Ted but I’m afraid his toolbox isn’t quite big enough for the repairs required this time around. I’d love to see Ted hold the flashlight and hand the Donald pliers, wrenches and hammers from the VP seat though...

maybe we should talk about raising the retirement age for younger voters instead. I think so.

At this point we need a leader that can turn our economy around. WE NEED JOBS. If I’m fired, layed off or I quit a job, I want to be able to walk across the street and start another regardless of the color of my skin, gender, religion, political preference and without government help or direction. WE NEED JOBS. If I have the skill and will I’m hired. I want to see help wanted signs in every business I see.
Drugs, prostitution, homosexuality and crime have all been going on since day one and will continue till the end. We don’t need a leader that worries about it every waking day. Let the States decide what to do with those people. I don’t really worry about any of it because I don’t go looking for it. If it comes to me, I can say no thanks and move on and have the RIGHT and NO FEAR to do so. They destroy themsleves without any help. I don’t have the time for it, I need to go to work, take care of my family and buy things. Let the individual citizen decide for him or herself what he or she wants to do with themselves. I don’t want a president whose only goal for 4 to 8 years is to establish himself as a religious leader. I have a church that takes care of that. I don’t want the Church (any religion) in the White House and I don’t want the White House in my Church (any church). I want a leader that protects the country and every CITIZEN in it without blaming and demonizing those citizens for what our enemies do. I want a leader that is CONCERNED with the well being of the US instead of our enemies. I want a leader that says no to Europe and the UN and doesn’t care about their protests, whining and crying. We need a leader that builds the US instead of chaining it.

Cruz is a distant second on my list. I wish he would do something to look less Nixon-esque.

There’s a lot to like about Cruz but the numbers just add up to a big loss with him at the helm, sadly. Trump is a much better bet, numerically, where his striking demographic and party support mimics Reagan. We don’t know exactly what we’ll get with Trump, but the same was true of Reagan himself. He kicked Russia’s ass and forced Congress to cut taxes. But he also punted on Islamic terrorism when he could have killed the baby in its crib, and gave us a massive amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.

It’s my opinion that Trump supporters should get busy now with whatever they can do to support him. He doesn’t need our money but he can always use on the ground help everywhere it can be given.

This thread and one other has convinced me that Trump supporters should get on with doing what they can for Trump as their preferred candidate and leave Cruz supporters to their whatever.

It’s impossible and unproductive to try to debate the Brother Bill and Sister Bertha Better Than You types that Cruz has elicited with his last exhortations. Whatever you say that’s positive about Trump will be immediately interpreted as “unchristian”, or contrary to the Word of The Almighty.
I’m not sure Cruz was wise to open up that avenue to further his campaign but he did, so, we’ll see.

My faith is deep and my walk with my Savior and The Almighty is personal. No one else needs to know the details of my firm beliefs except My Lord and My Creator. I see many Christians on here being drawn into a discussion of their faith when earthly politics is the matter at hand. Denominational differences should have no bearing whatsoever on the political discourse, but it seems that Cruz supporters can’t separate the two.

I don’t know whether Cruz intended to influence the discussion in this way or not. The fact that he did so repulses me and greatly diminishes the respect and admiration I had for him at the beginning of his candidacy; even though I support Trump for President. Cruz’s faith is not the issue for me, but rather that he sought to profit from it by baiting his followers to work for him in its Author’s Name. I find that off putting to say the least.

It would behoove Trump supporters to stay out of time wasting and unproductive debates like these. If Cruz supporters could stick to policy, debate would be fine, but they seem unable to do so for the most part. The issue of religion has been going on for hundreds of years with no settlement and there won’t be one until Our Lord returns. Until then, we have alien invaders pouring across our borders, mass killers being installed in our very neighborhoods, muslim haters waiting to run over us or chop us up anywhere anytime and foreigners being imported daily to take our jobs from us. Those things are just for starters. We should concentrate on electing a President that will help us defend ourselves against those things and the right to practice our Christian faith in safety, not arguing about our brand of faith and who’s right.
