In what's more evidence that Donald Trump is becoming completely unhinged, he is now stooping so low as to label Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz "a bit of a maniac":
"I donât think heâs qualified to be president⦠I donât think he has the right temperament. I donât think heâs got the right judgment⦠You look at the way heâs dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there like a â you know, frankly like a little bit of a maniac. Youâre never going to get things done that way."
He added:
"Look, I built a phenomenal business. Iâm worth many, many billions of dollars. I have some of the greatest assets anywhere in the world. You canât walk into the Senate, and scream, and call people liars, and not be able to cajole and get along with people. Heâll never get anything done. And thatâs the problem with Ted."
It's rather fascinating that this is coming from the most bombastic and maniacal presidential candidate in history. Almost every single one of his proposals are downright outlandish, and he calls everyone who dares disagree with him "a loser" and worse. See how he smeared Dr. Ben Carson by calling him "pathological."
What's more, Trump's latest jabs at Cruz prove that he has no idea what real conservatives want. Cruz promised them to stand up for their values in Washington D.C., even if the establishment would hate him for it. That's exactly what he's done, and it's one of the main reasons that he's now so popular among Evangelicals, very conservative voters, and those who identify themselves with the Party.
If I was Cruz, I'd politely ask The Donald to attack me even more. After all, this will only end up helping, rather than hurting him.

Cruz will deliver the beat down with a smile, highlighting policy differences. That’s what votes ultimately care about. Trump is playing with fire by attacking Cruz.
How would Trump have repealed Obamacare successfully if he was in the Senate? If he’s so smart, give us that road map.
Ungentlemanly of Donald, considering how classy Cruz has been towards him.
Surely this is satire?
I think this Trump/Cruz thing had to happen and that the extent of it will be directly related to the tightening of the race, as reflected in the polls.
Where Cruz’ ground game gets in TRUMP’s way, TRUMP will get more aggressive. If TRUMP can hold his nice lead nationally, and in the early states, then TRUMP be milder.
But, let’s face it, TRUMP is a fighter by nature so he is likely to go after what he deems a problem and not just sit there, passively. Cruz wants to be passive with his Republican opponents, but that can not last in this climate, I’m thinking.
We don’t need to “unite” the country. That’s liberal nonsense. We need to defeat the enemy within, the liberals and socialists. There isn’t a single policy I would ever “unite” with them on.
The party establishment hated Reagan too. They hate anyone who isn’t a moderate or liberal RINO.
If you believe that, its OK.
Cruz needs to say that he has stood up to Obama and the Republican Establishment, he does not need to trash Trump and get the conflict going that will allow Rubio or some other RINO-GOPe candidate to come through as the “I’m not the mean, nasty fighting candidates that Trump and Cruz are”.
Well said!
Congress can impose it’s will on a President if Congress wants to. See Iran-Contra affair for a recent example.
How is a junior Senator supposed to suddenly take charge of Congress and pass everything he wants? The point is Cruz fought for all the right issues, so he deserves a promotion from the voters to a position where he’ll have more power. Better than putting a liberal, moderate or a “campaign conservative” up there.
Under Obama, what GOP Senator has successfully passed a bunch of conservative bills?
I have always thought it would be excellent for the Republican nomination battle to come down to Cruz or Trump.
I like those choices.
I choose Cruz.
I think most of the GOPe and mainline conservatives, when forced to choose, will choose Cruz. I think that’s been the end-game Cruz was looking for.
What a mess. The only way to prevent the worst imaginable damage might be to try to help defeat Clinton in the primaries.
That will be coming, but belching all your cards right out of the gate against your opponent is seldom the plan.
This morning was very mild. Trump is just warming his hands at the campfire right now.
His hammer will fall only if and when the polling challenges require it. It’s a year out after all.
No, Trump said it to Chris Wallace today.
but you may be right...
lol.
The Corker bill passed with 97 of 100 votes.
Killing that bill would’ve been a heavy lift even for master negotiator Trump, right?
You can shoot me later (if the song doesn't stop by New Years Day, or so).
I'd beat you to it, if it made it to next Friday here on my end of things.
Oh, good grief. No one is staying home on election day!
Not Cruz supporters, not TRUMP supporters.
Threats like that are no leverage whatsoever with TRUMP or his supporters, and laughable on their face.
Think of something else.
Cruz and Trump had made some appearances at the same events and had been somewhat receptive to each other prior to that. Believe Trump had even said something about considering Cruz for VP possibly. Cruz on the other hand had just said he would put Trump in charge of building the wall possibly.
