Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
Done with the laundry, then I will take a shower, and by then the store will be open so I can get the needle I need.

I hope Jake responds well to the antibiotic. That...that...that ex-tomcat!!!
Oh! I saw a coyote just on the other side of the wall, on UP property, where the bike/foot trail is. It’s probably the same one I have seen, heading in the same direction — home after a night of searching for food. It wasn’t 50’ from me. If it’s the same one I saw on the other side of the property a couple of months ago, it’s in better shape. The coat is fuller.
Oh, dear. I hope nothing worse happens!

It spoke to me....figured it could be useful.
Chocolate is always useful, isn’t it Nully?
Thanks, Moosie! :o])
We’ve been asked to create a task category in our software for car chase.
That is all.
It would be fun to have unlimited capabilities to implement that.
Oh, yeah. Lots of fun. Actually, the big implementation would be releasing it to the public to smooth traffic flow.
I say this because I am a member of the public, and I drive.
Sharing the route maps and current status along those maps is a feature in Release 3.
That's what I mean when I say it's going to be fun. Imagine that all of your drive-time is spent in the groove. You cruise slowly up to the red light and have it change to green just in time so you can keep moving.
Your navigation display shows all the routes laid out in front of you, and all the traffic dots moving on it!
You coordinate with the other traffic as if you were all red blood cells moving through capillaries. You get home so quickly it seems like there was no one else on the road.
Wouldn't that be a useful hack?
Has this little advert hit town ?

It says it isn’t available in this country. That stinks...
Only with a head’s up display.
Or if the car takes care of it while you’re playing WoW or something.
Speaking of tek-nah-low-gee in vehicles, why do trucks (lorries for Moose) still have to do that annoying beep-beep-beep thing? Can’t we give them all backup cameras?
The beep beep isn’t for the driver.
The company I work for had a project engineer, on his cell phone, killed by a dump truck backing up last year. The technology stuff is nice, but situational awareness is still vitally important.
That’s a blow to moral.
It is Tony Wesley doing his Wave dance in a totally inappropriate place.
He is security on a presidential motorcade.....the phone rings.
“The big bad wolf” starts up.....
Do you have the annoying rotating yellow lights on all worksite vehicles?
Argee, the beeping is so the driver knows the truck is in reverse. They put it outside the cab because the beeping is above safety levels inside it. :)
Worse than the rotating beacons, they all use those strobes that are so bright, it’s blinding to go through a workzone.
I’m a main office guy now, it’s been a long time since I wore boots to work.
If I could afford a backup camera in addition to the backup alarum, I would have one installed. The beep-beep-beep was installed to let the Walmartians know a vehicle that weighs over a ton is going to be in their path, and they need to let it do what it started.
Amen, Travis T.
People just DO NOT pay attention when they have their faces in cellphones.
LOL! I wish I could see it! :o]
Afternoon. Jake survived his horrible experience in the Unacceptable Receptacle. The vet (a new one at the practice, Dr. Rodrigues) said it’s a bad abscess, but the shot should knock it out. He got in bed with me for a while after we picked Tom up at school.
Sally has the Crud: the kind Vlad and Pat had, fever and headache, rather than the spew version. Elen will sub in her class tonight.
