ISIS Surrenders in face of Climate Change Conference

Raqqa, Syria

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.

"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."

An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.

Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."

According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.

"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."

So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

Impulsive, aren’t we?

According to the Web, you’re not the first. There are suggestions out there if you want to try any of them. One says “set your system in a clean boot state.” I’d have to look up how to do that if you want to give it a shot.

No, not so much cinnamon, as it had cloves, too. The combination works as a topical anesthetic, which is why the pain of ulcers goes away so quickly — usually with the first bite or two.

Do you have mint tea? Or ginger tea? either will help.

As I was reading the posts that came in after I last posted, the phone rang. It was a woman at New Dellhi, TX, asking me about the problem.

She tried to tell me the original problem was addressed and fixed, and I told her that, no, it was neither, because I still can’t access the internet.

Wonder of wonders...they are sending me a FedEx label so they can have the computer back. I’m going to put a note in the box...”Do NOT return this unless it is FIXED.”

We shall see. And the saga continues.

I’ll wait for the PC to come back from New Dellhi before I check out that site. I’m just not a happy camper right now.

I got a text message a little while ago. It seems Busdaddy was in an accident in the bus yesterday, and he is suspended for three days. He started into an intersection and got T-boned by a car, as the light was red in his direction.

The driver of the car should be at fault for not paying attention, but that’s just my opinion. I mean, how can you not see a double-decker bus?

Anyway, he’s worried about his job, now. He will be 65 in July, and he’s afraid they will see the accident as a reason to terminate him. He needs to start getting his info together for SS, so he will have something to fall back on.

They have already done the mandatory drug tests, but that’s never been a worry because he doesn’t drink. He went through this two years ago. But gee...how can I help? HAHAHAHA!

I don’t want to see him lose his job, of course, but it’s outta my hands and he knows it.

We don’t wish ill of others, but did you get any explanation of why he ran a red light?

He said he thought it was still green, but it had turned yellow, he said, in a later text. Of course, by the time that big a vehicle gets moving, it’s pretty hard to stop. The video cameras will tell it all, for sure.

I’m thinking it has more to do with his tendency to let his mind wander. He’s not as focused as he was back when I knew him.

Sounds as if he made an error. Tell him you’re sorry and will pray for him. Then don’t respond to any further texts. His girlfriend can mommy him.

That’s basically what I told him. I’m not your mommy any more. Don’t call me, I’ll call you... ;o]

Good for you! It seems as if at least once a week he’s texting you trying to get you to “help” him with something. Clearly, letting you go free is not something he wants to do.

Reminds me of kids who “get hurt” or start a fight as soon as they realize my attention isn’t on them.

Yep, about once a week, but it’s happening less often, now. And you’re right: he doesn’t want to let go. Maybe by this time next year, he will have taken the hint. Maybe...

We’re going on a year since *he* told *you* to get out of his life. He sure doesn’t assimilate new situations very fast!

(I have kids like that, too.)

He wants the new while still hanging onto the old.
That’s so sad.
He needs to let go. It’s the best thing that has happened to me in years, and I like the fact that he can’t pressure me any more.

I printed out the label for FedEx, for pick up tomorrow, and this time, they requested the power cord. I hope that means that they are going to replace the laptop!

Anyway, it’s all set to be picked up, long about the time pest control shows up for their tri-monthly spraying. Folks are still complaining about their air filters, because they haven’t been changed since July. (Except for me, and a few others who buy their own.)

I am in real need of a trim for my hair. It needs to be evened up a lot. If I can just let it grow for the next ten months, I can donate it for Christmas.

It must be time to go to bed. The barometer is dropping and my right ankle is beginning to hurt, so I’m going to put some heat on it. And take some Ibuprofen, which means I will have one more day of ulcer cocktails, and maybe by Thursday, I can have some Adult Beverage.

"... and maybe by Thursday, I can have some Adult Beverage."

This sounds a bit like me; trying to find something to celebrate about every day.

I’ve had a lot to celebrate, every single day I open my eyes and find I’m still in my own bed! It’s just that the Adult Beverages have to wait their turns after the Needs have been met.

There are so many people here that find themselves a little short of money a day or two after payday, and who head for the casino (four within walking distance) and go bet all their money on a “sure thing.” Then they try to borrow the needed funds from other residents (including me) and some are willing to “help.” (Aid and abet.) Not me. I won’t enable them.

I’ve given up being an enabler! ;o]
