That’s the issue. Carson lent his weight as a brain surgeon, his face and his name to sell a product through at least 3 different infomercials he made, then he bald faced lied during the debate about his involvement with this company. If that doesn’t speak to character, what does?

First, there's no doubt that the MSM-Debate folks were trying to screw Dr. Ben Carson ....

just like they did Herman Cain in 2012 (et al).

It's not "fair", but it's "blood sport politics".

Accordingly, Dr. Ben Carson's campaign staff effectively did serious damage to their boss for NOT being pro-active about the question of Mannatech.

Somebody on Dr. Ben Carson's staff should be FIRED.

Period.

It's a "legal fact" that once money or "renumeration" trades hands, the two parties involved have an "association".

That's what the RICO laws are all about.

Quid Pro Quo.

It's my suspicion that the Mannatech product genuinely helped Dr. Ben Carson's medical condition.

That's a good thing.

But Dr. Ben Carson (for reasons I cannot even imagine) labeled questions about his "association" with Mannatech as ...

liberal news media lies and "propaganda".

WHY did Dr. Ben Carson do that ?

Didn't he know the story and evidence (including pictures that I've posted today at Free Republic) were AVAILABLE to EVERYONE ?

Hell, it only took me FIVE minutes at Google to locate a score of images showing Dr. Ben Carson speaking at Mannatech conferences ($ 120,000 for three speeches).

Doesn't Dr. Ben Carson and his Campaign Staff KNOW-REMEMBER the 2012 Herman Cain debacle ?

Haven't they EVER heard of "Google Searches" ?

Holy Mackerel ... what COSMIC incompetence on display.

And folks still believe that Dr. Ben Carson is "intellectualy" (not mentioning the MORAL aspect) of running a SUCCESSFUL presidential campaign against Hillary Clinton ?

Dr. Ben Carson is a BRILLIANT surgeon --- BUT a complete, utter ARROGANT FOOL to think that he can HIDE "anything" during a presidential campaign.

Period.

Doesn't Dr. Ben Carson and his campaign Staff REMEMBER how the MSM interviewed people who had been Junior High School colleages of Mitt Romney in the 2012 campaign ?

Rest assured ... EVERY malpractice lawuit (imagined or real) against Dr. Ben Carson ...

and EVERY traffic stop sign violation ...

and EVERY "scorned" romantic woman in his life ...

and EVERY disgruntled and jealous staffer / nurse / janitor ...

who's ever been within 100 miles of Dr. Ben Carson ...

will be BRIBED to LIE about him ...

and that doesn't include "questionable" donations from Mannatech, Walmart, Captain Kangeroo, or Mother Theresa.

These are the reasons that I consider Dr. Ben Carson's lie (in front of 11 million TV viewers) the "beginning of the end" of his 2016 presidential campaign.

Heck ... Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton's "Opposition Reseach Teams" probably have already collected the serial numbers on the $ 100 bills used in the $ 120,000 total transactions between Dr. Ben Carson and Mannatech.

Dr. Ben Carson's 2016 presidential campaign is "over".

Period.

The article is misrepresenting what Dr. Carson says in the video.

I can’t watch the whole video, but just within the first 12 minutes...

He says his symptoms went away, but he didn’t say the product cured him.

As a matter of fact, around 11:08, he says:

>>> “Now, some people have concluded that I was cured without surgery and that I was just cured by the glyconutrients. Maybe it would’ve happened; maybe it would not have. But I do not advocate abandoning traditional medical cures that have been shown to work. What I would, however, advocate is using natural products to supplement what’s done by traditional medicine. The two things do not have to be adversarial. In fact, they can be really extremely complementary.” <<<

I guess someone called him on it, because in at least one of the speeches I saw, he only mentioned the Mannatech product. Claiming cures for autism, down syndrome and cancer are why the company has been sued and has paid out millions in damage suits.

I don’t care if he takes supplements in a cereal bowl with a spoon. Just don’t make paid infomercials and a paid PBS special advocating a product and then claim you had no involvement with the company.

He made paid speeches, infomercials and a PBS special for this company and then claimed he had no involvement to the company. That goes to character.

Now lets talk about his positions. He changed his position on subsidies during the debate (now against). He is still in favor of amnesty, wants gun control on some weapons and in some areas, wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare, and has very strong ties to Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan, whom he says should be leading public policy in Chicago. His faith teaches Pacifism (non combat), so he can’t possibly be an effective Commander in Chief. Some people object to his being a member (Elder) of one of the four major Cults in the world.

I can’t find a single reason to vote for this man.

The person who wrote this knows nothing about prostate cancer. According to this article, he claimed his symptoms were reduced, which is not the same as claiming to have been cured. The symptoms are not the tumor. They are the results of the tumor’s presence. Most men who have prostate issues cite symptoms that include swelling of the prostate that inhibits or prevents urination. There are a number of herbal supplements that reduce swelling and inflammation. Reducing the inflammation and swelling also makes surgery easier and more precise.

Alternative / natural medicine has its place -- but as a cancer cure pretty dubious.

Where did the article say he claimed it was a cancer cure? Symptom reduction is not a cancer cure. This article says he said it reduced his symptoms. Who wouldn't want to try something herbal if it works as well as the more invasive, more expensive big pharma meds?

Don’t even try to talk sense to the haters. They are seething and think that by posting hysterical, inflated and inaccurate claims, they are somehow helping Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is a gentleman and would be appalled, but whatever...

And for the record, Ben Carson is not my number one choice. But I would vote for him if nominated.

We’re in the same boat. I don’t know how these attacks on other candidates are helping the ones favored by the haters. Never can figure that mindset out.

And, you got FReepmail coming up !

What false claim? He said that his symptoms went away after three weeks. He did NOT say that the supplement cured his prostate cancer. You really know how to spin, twist and warp other people’s words. Like most leftist do, in fact.

I am not, by any means, for Carson for President....but he could have easily been telling the truth. He said his symptoms went away (then). The supplement could have alleviated those symptoms temporarily.

What part of “todays’ prescription drugs are derived from plants that were put on earth by God to cure our ailments” are folks not comprehending? Making fun of Mannatech’s product is, again, something only leftists would do to demonize a Republican. Odd, that.

And Carson’s symptoms being alleviated temporarily does not make him a liar or a fraud. He’s not presidential material, IMO, but he’s also not what you are accusing him of being.

It’s that old divide and conquer routine. The leftists use it quite effectively against us by posing as “one of us” righties.

The videos are irrefutable.

The video is an hour and twenty minutes long. At what point during the video does he make the statement(s) that are alleged?

Maybe folks just have a difference of opinion. But the fact is....I knew about the Mannatech infomercials before the debate. That news was posted here on F.R. several days before the debates.

The haters are stating that Carson and his advisors were stupid, inept, whatever for not getting out in front of the story and being “blindsided” by it.

The fact is Carson answered the question. And he said he takes and likes the product. He was not blindsided in the least.

The fact is Dr Carson never stated “the product cured his Cancer. That is just a fabrication.

There seems to be a lot of accusations here, and on the MSM, moderators on the debates in particular (I’m not sure I would want to be a member here who stands behind the MSM and moderators, but to each his own.....) that Dr Carson is “lying” about being associated with Mannatch.

Dr Carson may not be your candidate, heck he’s not mine, he’s(IMO) not a real Conservative. But I know one thing. HE’s not a liar.

He’s not on the board of Mannatech. He’s not a part owner. He has nothing to do with the day to day operations. If Mannatech went belly up tomorrow what would Carson lose? Nothing. Because he is not associated with them. IMO. And his.

If you think differently then fine. Just so you also believe that anyone doing commercials for a company is also “associated” with that company. It could be very interesting looking into that and slinging accusations.

Oh, here’s one to start:

Donald Trump has some real estate investments and he wants everyone to buy a piece of earth too. The reality star and successful businessman is one of the three celebrities to be part of the Super Bowl Commercials 2012. While most might be thinking of fancy cars or top of the line wines, on Tuesday the host of Celebrity Apprentice announced that he will be pitching Century 21.

“I think it is a great time to buy real estate” said Donald Trump in the behind the scenes video. “Something that is really well located so you can be happen and by the way use Century 21 that would be just fine.”

Keeping the theme of the commercial and sharing few details, Century 21 is making sure the commercial is a surprise and will only be seen by the viewers on game day. Careful not to have any spoilers, the company has been extremely vigilant to keep the commercial away from the Internet to avoid leaking.

Take a look at the video clip of behind the scenes with Donald Trump’s Century 21 commercial. Two words that probably won’t be heard is: “You’re Fired.”

So, Trump is associated with Century 21? I did not know that.

Apparently associated with the Super Bowl too.....So then it follows he is associated with the NFL too.

Which means he has something to do with all the poor old NFL players who are dying early due to concussions.

“Donald Trump. Killing black men since 2012”

That would make a great campaign slogan.

I don’t remember the minute and second, but it is near the beginning.

The main issue for me is his denial of having any involvement with the company. He used his name and the weight of his profession to endorse the product in several speeches, videos and an hour long PBS special. To claim no involvement is just dishonest.

The company has so far paid out over 700 million in claims for falsely claiming to cure autism, downs syndrome and cancer. Many more lawsuits are pending.

Lending your name and reputation as a physician by making paid speeches, infomercials, and an hour long PBS special for a company endorsing its product is involvement.
