'I Don't Know What That Is' - Trump explains Seventh Day Adventist Comment on 'Face the Nation'
The Right Scoop ^ | 10/25/2015 | soopermexican

El Trumpo continued his attack on Ben Carson for his taking the lead in the Iowa polls while he joined CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

He tried to explain that he didn’t intend his comments about Carson’s faith as an insult, but rather that he just didn’t know anything about the denomination. Some have said that it’s smart of his bringing up the subject as it’ll cause some doubt among Evangelicals in Iowa.

He also said that his campaign “completely disavowed” superPACs after a pro-Trump superPAC was closed down when the Washington Post found questionable ties to the Trump campaign.

Adventists and JW’s have differing understanding of whom Michael is. Adventists believe Michael is the pre-incarnate form of Christ, but He is still God. JW’s believe that Christ is a created being and, therefore not God.

I’m pretty sure Nixon was a Quaker and they are pacifists as well.

Yep.

The MSM continually attacks white Christians for sport and they go after Trump?

Thank you for being one to recognize pacifism is not necessarily cowardice and performing noncombat roles, like medics, is as important to the success of war as any soldiers.

The Scripture clearly teaches that Jesus is not the Archangel Michael.

THE BIBLE SAYS:
“For to which of the angels did He ever say, ‘Thou art My Son, today I have begotten thee?’” Hebrews 1:5 (emphasis added).
“But of the Son He says, ‘Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever...’” Hebrews 1:8a
“But to which of the angels has He ever said, ‘Sit at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet?’ Are they [the angels] not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:13-14

Not downplaying their roles. I just see there being a conflict between strongly held pacifist beliefs and being an effective Commander in Chief.

You are assuming the President would actively interfere with the generals leading the military. I don’t think so. It’s not as though Presidents do anything in war, outside of authorizing military action.

You really don’t understand the role of Commander in Chief. Believe it, Obama actively interferes with the advice of the military generals all the time.

You’re trying to sell the premise that a man who does not believe in engaging in armed combat himself, will be able to make solid decisions concerning military engagement. That’s preposterous.

Wait a sec, the “seedbearers” are part of the fundamentalist Morman group, the one led by the wretched Warren Jeffs. Not at all part of SDA.

I’m saying Dr. Carson would not do that. He would most likely allow the generals to win their wars. He would be happy just to sign off on whatever plans they have.

Hah, now every evangelical in Iowa is going to go to the computer to see what Trump is (and is not) talking about in regards to the Seventh Day Adventist denomination.

Then they'll find out that Carson and the SDA's tenents are not evangelistic at all.

I'll bet the enemdia really thought they had Trump in a religious-bigotry bind this time.

It needed to happen. The deceit has gone on long enough.

I think you are mistaken. The SDAs do believe in the deity of Jesus, what they do not accept is the Triune nature of God, and the Holy Spirit. They also believe in soul sleep, they are vegetarian, they have a prophetess who has some odd teachings, and they think you must celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday; if you do not, it is a really huge sin. They are not nearly as blasphemous as Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, etc., but they do meet the definition of a Christian cult rather than a Christian denomination. I cannot understand evangelical support of Carson, but then again I have observed that a lot of evangelicals are not as schooled in theology as they should be.

Mainstream Adventists are Trinitarians.

Your SDA beliefs are so non scriptural it’s quite frankly sickening. Jesus isn’t an angel and never has been.

As long as you limit the term angel to that of a being, instead of it’s Greek meaning of messenger, you’re right. :)

Jonty30, I am just trying to understand the difference between Evangelicals and SDA’s. I know SDA’s Sabbath is
Saturday and most SDA members are vegetarians but other than that, is there are real difference?

No where in the bible does it say Jesus is Michael. Lucifer is also and angel, that’s who guides you with this blasphemy. I believe you all are so twisted up in the spirit of confusion.

I think that if Carson gets close to the nomination his SDA beliefs are going to be called into question. Principal among them is the historic SDA belief that the Pope is the “whore of Babylon”.

As a Catholic, I have a real problem with this. I really like Ben Carson as an individual; he is filled with large doses of common sense. However, the SDA beliefs really trouble me.
