City of Sodom Discovered: Archeological find gives insight into story of destruction

It seems that Sodom and Gomorrah were not as “destroyed” as previously thought.

The ruins of the biblical city of Sodom reportedly have been discovered by U.S. archeologists in southern Jordan.

God punished the wickedness of the citizens by destroying the city with brimstone and fire, the biblical story explains. Only the righteous inhabitants were allowed to escape the destruction and were spared by God.

The archeological team, directed by Steve Collins of New Mexico’s Trinity Southwest University, has been working for 10 years in the Jordan Valley. It now believes it has uncovered this magnificent historical site.

If confirmed, the discovery could give the archeological community an invaluable understanding of how people lived during between 3500 BC and 1540 BC.

And perhaps most interestingly, the excavations are revealing that life in the city came to an abrupt end during the Middle Bronze Age (2000-1540 BC), seemingly consistent with the biblical story. Preliminary tests reveal there was a stark end of life that lasted for about 700 years.

Consider - Islam is the joining together of various religious teachings and practices to unify and unite the nomadic tribes that inhabited the area. This is what Mohammed did, he joined together he nomadic tribes with their pagan rituals and formed a new religion. he also blended Christianity and Judaism into the blend to appeal to the civilized peoples within the area. The civilized would not join, so they were first ran out of town, if not doing so they were murdered in cold blood, the females young and old were used as sex toys.

if you remember OT history - pagan Gods required idols (gold), sacrifices of humans on altars and many other oddiies that exist in Islam.

Basically Islam is a syncrestic religion blended with many Occult practices and on the face looks good, but in all reality is more Satanic than it is God like

Yes you are right = the Cult of Islam rose up in the 700s AD, under Mohammed. BUT, the Pagan Rituals existed for centuries. Stoning of satan by throwin a stone at a black rock. sacrifice of a young virgin to a pagan God.

islam = satan’s death cult
moohammud = satan’s savage messenger/follower
allah = satan

That’s all one needs to know to evaluate islam.

“The cult of Islam didn’t exist then.”

Thank you, Vision. That is why I stated this:

“Consider this scripture - especially verse 21 - concerning crescent ornaments even though Islam was not, to our knowledge, in existence at that time:”

There was some talk earlier this year about a Quran found that predated Mohammad. We don’t know all, yet. It is only a fact for consideration.

when I was a child, parents were medical missionaries and every summer except a few, went to the Middle East. Islam is evil, and always will be. i can remember one old guy whom stated the Anti-Christ will not be just one person it will be a group of people whom will be intent on evil. The old guy was considered a flake, bu guess what maybe that old guy saw something that we are now seeing today - the rise of Islam is so imbedded into the West that many European nations are on he verge of being the minority =Look at Sweden, Norway, Denmark, France - the Islamists are taking over the country - where are the Syrians refugees running to Germany - the one nation that is profitable in Europe whereby much of Germany’s products are exports worldwide.

America needs to wake up, because Islam is coming for America

Mohammed was adherent of what was called the Sabaens -
pray five times a day, and nomads had 360 idols to worship, so the unification to Islam to be under one God (monotheism - to appeal to Jews and Christians) would allow for the nomads to become more productive, settle down and become civilized. The feast of ramaddan - was a requirement in Pagan religions. The Pilgrimmage to Mecca, medina and to the now the third holy place - The Mosque in Jerusalem) were all part og the nomadic tribes existence All this was unified under the sabaens. keep in mind also the Islam has roots in Hellenism (Ancient Greece) and Babylonian ideals.

The devil in Islamic culture is based on the scapegoat in Judaism Leviticus 16:8, 10 and 26.

The Kaaba (black rock) is based in Hinduiism

Zorastrianism (Persia Todays modern Iran and Iraq)is a big part of Islam.

A genie ( a fairy) in Islam was never male but was a female to give a man pleasure. The 72 virgins are actually fairies, not real women, but supernatural perfect beings. So Walt Disney was wrong about a Genie

Nineveh was very wicked too......Jonah did not want to go there to warn them to turn from their wicked ways.....

...he knew God could have compassion and spare them if they repented

I’m praying and have been praying God will yet spare America

That sounds pretty "destroyed" to me.

No they haven’t found Sodom and Gomorrah. Both cities are under the Dead Sea. Hide and watch, wait and see until that becomes the actual truth.

What weasel words! People will resort to anything to try to discredit the Bible.
It was abandoned and nobody went back and rebuilt over the site as happened in so many other places so I would say it was pretty much destroyed.

But NBC was right.

Be still, my heart! She was just so adorable in that role; I watch the reruns on Antenna TV now and then and can't help but smile!

“Have you seen this one by Ross Patterson?”

Yes, and there are many more videos by Collins and others concerning this topic. The Collins and Patterson videos and others note how verses in the Bible comment upon the Biblical personalities being able to see the ruins of the sin cities in the centuries following their destruction, despite some people to day wanting to believe those cities disappeared altogether after being “obliterated.”

Someone told me that if God doesn’t destroy America, He owes an apology to Sodom and Gomorrah.

If America doesn't acknowledge the depravity of sodomy and other immorality and apostasy, it will have
no excuse before God the Judge for being judged as Gomorrah and Sodom in a fiery ending:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,
who hold (suppress) the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood
by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: . . ."
(Rom 1:18-20).
