It is one thing to recognize that there are Muslims who are not terrorists (secular muslims). It is entirely another thing to go out of your way to kiss every Muslim ass on the planet and tell them their religion is just peachy fine and as good as, if not better than, Christianity or Judaism.
If the following quotes are representative of Bush’s attitude towards Muslims after 911, then I think it shows that he had his head firmly planted in the sand before 911.

You obviously do not understand diplomatic speech ...Its a matter of common sense to assert that Muslims are peaceful and good people and maybe it is just wishful thinking but you need to separate peace loving Muslims from radical jihadists if you are going to go to war with jihadists.
That is the kind of thing diplomats and politicians and Presidents say.

When did GWB ever say anything even closely resembling that statement?
GWB insisted that Islam is a peaceful religion, when in fact throughout it's entire history Islam has been anything but peaceful.
Take my word for what? The scum who did 9-11 were mostly illegally here. Bush did not do common sense things like go after illegals as he should have or aggressively secure the border after that event and our border is still insecure today. That is just fact. Bush did go into Afghanistan and he did say later that getting the guy behind 9-11 was relatively unportant which I think was a stupid thing to say. Bush did use 9-11 as an excuse to stand up a giant domestic spying apparatus that Obama is now going to use against “domestic terrorists” like us. I don’t blame Bush for 9-11 but I also don’t think he really did much to make our country more secure either. I think he could and should have at least secured our border while we are at war. That seems like common sense to me. Perhaps I expect too much.

Instead, U.S. authorities put them on buses and sent them back across the border.
