And thus starts another three day news cycle of free media coverage. Trump stirs this stuff up to keep his name in the news, and everyone else’s name OUT of the news.

President Bush didn’t give us the war on terror; they came to us.

Put your head in the sand if it makes you feel better, but it only facing the facts will truly help. React with your emotions and hothead if you feel like it, but cool and clear thinking is all that’s going to help.

“Dubya made it safer for us all...”

“No, he didn’t.”

Yes he did.

He put the jihadists back on their heels and deep into their caves. W showed that these bloody, loud, sabre rattlers will turn and run for their lives when confronted with determined force. No more 9-11’s after that. A major contribution W made among lots of screw ups was he did make America safer in showing by action, not just words, that “Freedom will defend itself.”

So, if someone comes over and sucker punches you - that’s your fault right?

Once President Bush’s administration was awake to the danger, they took action. And yes, they took actions that kept us safe.

“Islam is Peace” Says President
Remarks by the President at Islamic Center of Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C.

9/17/11

3:12 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all very much for your hospitality. We’ve just had a — wide-ranging discussions on the matter at hand. Like the good folks standing with me, the American people were appalled and outraged at last Tuesday’s attacks. And so were Muslims all across the world. Both Americans and Muslim friends and citizens, tax-paying citizens, and Muslims in nations were just appalled and could not believe what we saw on our TV screens.

These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it’s important for my fellow Americans to understand that.

The English translation is not as eloquent as the original Arabic, but let me quote from the Koran, itself: In the long run, evil in the extreme will be the end of those who do evil. For that they rejected the signs of Allah and held them up to ridicule.

The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war.

When we think of Islam we think of a faith that brings comfort to a billion people around the world. Billions of people find comfort and solace and peace. And that’s made brothers and sisters out of every race — out of every race.

America counts millions of Muslims amongst our citizens, and Muslims make an incredibly valuable contribution to our country. Muslims are doctors, lawyers, law professors, members of the military, entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, moms and dads. And they need to be treated with respect. In our anger and emotion, our fellow Americans must treat each other with respect.

Women who cover their heads in this country must feel comfortable going outside their homes. Moms who wear cover must be not intimidated in America. That’s not the America I know. That’s not the America I value.

I’ve been told that some fear to leave; some don’t want to go shopping for their families; some don’t want to go about their ordinary daily routines because, by wearing cover, they’re afraid they’ll be intimidated. That should not and that will not stand in America.

Those who feel like they can intimidate our fellow citizens to take out their anger don’t represent the best of America, they represent the worst of humankind, and they should be ashamed of that kind of behavior.

This is a great country. It’s a great country because we share the same values of respect and dignity and human worth. And it is my honor to be meeting with leaders who feel just the same way I do. They’re outraged, they’re sad. They love America just as much as I do.

I want to thank you all for giving me a chance to come by. And may God bless us all.

END 3:19 P.M. EDT

That’s right - W had his share, and maybe more, of screw-ups. But 9-11 wasn’t one of them. That falls directly on Clinton’s eight solid years of mismanagement and weakness. Bush responded to 9-11 the way we would of expect our President and sent these very surprised jihadists and killers back hiding deep in their caves.

Unfortunately awhile later, W got his eye off the ball and Iraq happened.

“I’m sick of weaklings defending scum like Bush who did nothing but ruin this country. Bottom line...he put all our lives in danger. GO TRUMP TAKE HIM OUT!”

Yeah, when I think of all the sleepless nights “worrying” that “W” wouldn’t be elected the re-elected, I have to kick myself a little bit. W certainly was better than either Gore or Kerry, but at the end of the day, he was the GOPe’s “$hit sandwich du jour” both elections. And as I look back over my life, as far as the GOP is concerned, there have been few bright spots. Certainly Reagan, and to a lesser extent, Nixon were good presidents, but otherwise, the GOPe has served up crap ever since WWII. And as has been pointed out in other posts on this thread, GHWB went to work undoing much of what Reagan had done, and that continued with W.
So I’m all in for Trump! When you’re in the bottom of the hole, there’s only one way to go, and that’s up. Hopefully Trump knows how to climb the ladder.

Bush III: “hey, vote for me because my brother lost the WTC, started an unnecessary war in Iraq, watched Katrina destroy New Orleans, and spent the country into ruin, giving us Obama. What worse can I do?!”

The assertion was made that Bush did nothing which is obviously not true

In politics the best you can hope for is that the politicians respond to the will of the people. That was done in this situation.

Try Google ( its free).

Here is a hint to what happened
The President of the US enforces laws and Congress makes them

If you want to blame Bush for Congress go right ahead.
You look like a fool in my book though, and there are plenty of people like me.

And I vote and guess who I will not vote for?

Blame Bush?
You have joined Obama..... he did it for years. You should feel proud

From todays reporting about the noble Mr Trump:

When asked by CNN after a rally at a local high school here if he thought the attacks were George W. Bush’s fault, Trump, after pausing to listen to the question, walked away.

Minutes later, he again declined to say anything when asked to react to Bush’s response on Twitter, ignoring at least half a dozen questions on the matter before driving away in his motorcade.

Its clear Trump is much braver when he tweets. Thats what this country needs a brave tweeter

No, it’s not true. Bush didn’t cause 9/11. Bill Clinton has responsibility for that mess. He had bin Laden several times, but he refused to pull the trigger.

While it might not have stopped the 9/11 attack, because we really don’t know when the idea was given to the real mastermind of the plot.

And .. really .. people expected GW to stop that attack, when he didn’t even know it existed .. and was plotted and planned years before ..?? That’s pretty ridiculous if you ask me .. and GW took office in January of 2001 and the towers fell in September .. and people were expecting GW to clean up all of Clinton’s messes in just 9 months ..????

The next president is going to have the same problem as GW. Obama has made such a big mess .. it’s going to take several years to get stuff straightened out. Which means, we should get our military ready FIRST .. in order to be more prepared for somebody to try to take advantage of us.

Believe me, I will be sending Mr. Trump a few words about his GW comment.

NEWS BRIEF: “Conservatives dispute Bush on Islam: Critics, include some policy advisers, call stance political” by Dana Milbank, The Washington Post, carried by MSNBC News, November 30, 2002.

“President Bush finds himself in a rare disagreement with conservatives in his party over his efforts to portray Islam as a peaceful religion that is not responsible for anti-American terrorism. In a score of speeches since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the president has called for tolerance of Muslims, describing Islam as “a faith based upon peace and love and compassion” and a religion committed to “morality and learning and tolerance.”

Clinton also gutted our intelligence agencies. We had little intelligence because we failed to use people on the ground

Bush rectified that..Now with Obama we have thrown those gains away

"So, if someone comes over and sucker punches you - that’s your fault right?"

See, here is the problem. Jen stated George kept America safe on his watch. 2977 Americans died on 9/11 that is 574 more than died at Pearl Harbor.

Jeb lied. He said George kept America Safe on his watch. If that statement was true then why did 2977 Americans die inside of the United States borders at the hands of foreign enemies which BTW damn near crashed our economy. It doesn't matter whose fault it is JEB LIED and Trump told the truth. And nothing you can say can change those iron clad facts.

A huge mistake, imo, that Bush made regarding Islam.

And it’s so prevalent. Most people I know (including those in my family) think Islam is just like Judaism and Christianity.

The Media has encouraged this just like they encourage all the other vices as normal behavior.

Thank you for the compliment...and I know that there a lot of people that are very touchy on the 9/11 tragedy...

My boyfriend had cancer just the year before, and we had to go to Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York, and I seen the vast destruction of what happened...and it made me so sick to my stomach...but I was also there the day that GWB took the foghorn and put his arm around that poor man, and you just had to be there to see and feel the fright, pain, sadness....and any loud noise or a plane coming into JFK or a helicopter frightened the people...you just had to be there to see and feel...

I didn't like GWB going into Iraq, but he did what he felt he had to do...I think it did something to him, he just wasn't the same after that...and neither were the rest of us after that day...

I think Trump said this to push a button, what I saw and read after the remark was Trump was trying to show how weak Jeb is, and Jeb will never be the man his father and brother are...and Jeb slammed Trump at the last debate, I'm surprised it took Trump this long to respond, but I have always said, Trump will bite back like a viper...I will still support Trump 100% because he is the only one I can see that can put the Country back together, and let the other countries know not to mess with him...and I think he has a very valuable place for Cruz and for Carson, if they don't attack him...
