Did James Harrison of the Steelers
start a positive trend? Trophies are supposed to mean something. An interesting bit of auto trivia, the Pontiac 389 engine, made famous by NASCAR drivers Cotton Owens and Marvin Panch, thanks to the late great Smokey Yunick's engineering expertise, and immortalized in song by Ronnie and the Daytonas
Little GTO was referred to by GM as the "TROPHY V-8"

Great ad.
It’s also good to see corporations not bend over for political correctness.

Nothing like a big thumb in the eye of the Nanny State crowd. I love it.

Thanks for the Post. Just found out the local school district no longer gives grades out just statements on the report card - exceeded average, average, below average and need for improvement. The school district also went to eight men football team. Spoke with one of the math teachers who had been pink slipped at the end of the school year in June how the math department is going with one teacher in High School - all advanced classes for the students are offered on a video link to the other school district in the county to have the teach the coursework simultaneously in both school districts high school mathematics courses. What a disaster!

Not a GM fan for many reasons going back 50 years. BUT I LOVE THE GTO. Especially once they put curves into them like the ones you show.
The early 64s were cool but not like these.

Its also good to see corporations not bend over for political correctness.Sad that it takes a Korean company to do it, though.

My 69 GTO was white.
Wish it would have been a Judge... although it did pretty well in the light to light dashes.
I paid $1500.00 in 1973 for it. Saw a few at auction in 2006 going for $30K+. Really wish I hadn’t totalled it on the day I paid the loan off. :-)

OUCH! And the Judge is the only car in history named for a comedy routine.
Flip Wilson made it famous on Laugh in.
