Retired Gen. Wesley Clark is hawking grilled cheese and soup these days.
Clark, the vice chairman of the Grilled Cheese Truck, a publicly traded company that puts veterans to work serving up meals from five kitchen trucks on the West Coast, is rolling out its New York City version in November part of a co-branded hook-up with The Original Soupman, of Seinfeld fame. ...This [business] model is all about putting veterans to work,
...The trucks will debut in New York City on Veterans Day.

Perfumed Prince Pestly Clark finally got a real job.
Looks like a fun investment that I can afford .... if I clean out the loose change in my car ash tray. ;)
This Gen Clark?: who called for a revival of internment camps to help combat Muslim extremism, saying, If these people are radicalized and they dont support the United States and they are disloyal to the United States as a matter of principle, fine. Its their right and its our right and obligation to segregate them from the normal community for the duration of the conflict.
I’m not a Vet ...but I do know how to heat up soup. :p
At that time, I worked a few blocks away and often stood on that line, cash in hand, to purchase soup. It was indeed the best.
NOW
Soups are also available at select supermarkets ... no need to stand in line.
It wasn’t all that good ..... and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced. We had to try ...we did ....an were not that impressed.
There are too many good food places in NYC to eat, rather than wait in that hideous line. IMO.
That’s about all Wesley is good for.
Then again many brick and mortar restaurants owners are opposed to food trucks as they see the competition as being unfair and lobby local governments to restrict where they can operate or regulate or license them out of business.

FWIW, the company I work for, last month to celebrate our New Year the end of another profitable fiscal year and the beginning of hopefully, a new one, brought in a food truck specializing in gourmet cheese steaks fresh thinly sliced and grilled beef, or seasoned grilled chicken and even a vegetarian option and with sides like homemade coleslaw and seasoned roasted potato wedges all locally sourced and fresh farm to table ingredients. Even their steak rolls were made fresh and from a small local bakery as well as the ice cream served as the desert from a small local dairy. The food was awesome!
Many Vets may have strong feelings about Wes....and his endorsement could be a deterrent to this noble idea of providing an opportunity for Vets.
We had a favorite food truck, that was an offshoot of a good burger joint....only to find out that they have parked the truck [for catering/event rental] out front of their place. After inquiring of the owner he told us it was too expensive to operate [labor, license fees] and make a fair profit.
Yeah, the local Soup Man franchise lasted 6 months. Way overpriced.
A large number of the food carts today in New York City these days serve that disgusting looking, smelling (and tasting) Muslim Halal crap. I would never have thought of buying or eating this junk until one night, about 3 in the morning when there was nothing else in the area, I gave it a shot. Big mistake. It actually tasted worse than it smelled. Never again will I even consider it.
It is one of five الأحكام الخمسة (al-ahkam al-khamsah)fard (compulsory), mustahabb (recommended), halal (allowed), makruh (disliked), haram (forbidden)that define the morality of human action in Islam.[2] Mubah is also used to mean "permissible" or "allowed" in Islam."
One of my customers is Empanada Guy here in New Jersey, and is growing like crazy!

I remember trying it a few times myself. The soup was indeed, very good. But what impressed me was the “packaging”. I remember the soup being accompanied by a nice piece of warm crusty bread, and a fancy piece of gourmet chocolate, all placed in a really nice high quality little shopping bag. Very unusual for “takeout”.
