They will eat just about any small critter they can swallow, including other frogs, according to a new study.

New study my butt, I've known about it for years.

A new study? I’ve known for many years that frogs are opportunistic carnivores. Bullfrogs especially are fond of small rodents and passerine birds. Some frog species' tadpoles prey on junior tadpoles of their own kind too.

Went bullfrog hunting years ago. When we were dressing the frogs we found a small toad in one of the frog’s belly.

I would think the hardest thing about being a cannibal is trying to get some very deep sleep, you know what I mean?

Ever seen Pacman Frogs? Also called Ornate Horned Frogs. They will eat each other. Makes them kinda hard to breed.

This is not new or news.

In some species, tadpoles from the same clutch of eggs become vegetarian while others become meat eaters. The meat eaters eat the vegetarians and become the next generation of frogs.

Additionally, animals thought to be vegetarians, such as cows, rabbits, and turtles, will, when the opportunity arises, eat meat. Dairy cows will even stomp barn mice, rabbits, and chickens then eat them.

Well at least they don’t smoke. That would be inexcusable.

Thank goodness this new study was conducted to uncover what anyone who grew up anywhere near a pond already knew. Looking forward to the exciting new study which will tell us that dogs will eat whatever they can swallow.
