I bought gas last night and noticed that the stickers on the pumps that states "contains 10% ethanol" have been removed from the gas pumps in my area. Meaning that they can put E15 in there without notice.
Be on the lookout for the removal of these stickers at you local dealer, and don't purchase gasoline at stations that don't have the 10% sticker affixed or the ethanol free.
E15 is coming at us whether we like it or not.
Looks like I will be buying a lit more of 93 ethanol free.
Damn the engine killer bureaucrats and the lobbyists that own them.

AAA says this is a disaster for older cars.

Maybe the gas DOESN’T contain ethanol?
What with gas approaching $2.00 a gallon, it’s more expensive to add that corn oil in than sell good ol’ regular gas.
Yeah!, Yeah!, I know. "What? You don't want people to eat corn?" "You want people to starve?"
Blow it out yer ear. Corn Welfare is not about feeding the world. It's about funneling tax dollars into the pockets of Iowa corn farmers.
Bunch of cornholes.
It’s not about cost. It’s about subsidizing farmers and destroying our means of transportation.
That’s what I’m thinking. If Ethanol costs more than oil maybe gas companies are stop adding it in. I do alot of highway driving and I’ve noticed my car performing better and getting better mileage recently. The corn lobby won’t be happy but screw them.
The sticker affixed to the ump stated “Contains a maximum of 10% ethanol” implying it could contain less. No sticker indicates that it could be whatever the EPA decides. If it were ethanol free they mark it as such.
Um, I just read a week ago that gasoline prices were rising a little bit because refineries shutting down to cut over from their Summer blend (with ethanol) to their Winter one (without it) was constricting supply.
So are you sure that the sticker isn’t gone because your gas station isn’t now on no-ethanol Winter blend?
Unfortunatley the nearest Southern States gasoline station that still sells pure gasoline is too far for me to drive to regularly get it.
:: more expensive to add that corn oil ::
Woudl that it actually were “corn oil” (a lubricant) but, alas, it is an alcohol that has organic solvent properties.
That is why it is detrimental to most vehicle fuel systems made from polymers.
Corn is for eating, Jack.
Gasoline is for internal combustion engines.
Just because someone thinks putting corn into a gas tank is foolish and unnecessary, doesn’t mean they are of the ‘We are the World’ mentality.
“That makes all the pandering of Iowa voters all the more sickening. Damned dirty subsidies for corn farmers.”
I agree, and Ted Cruz was the ONLY republican candidate who declined to commit to support the Renewable Fuel Standards when several Republican candidates visited Iowa this past Spring.
You have it backwards. The labels said “up to 10%”. If there is no sticker, there is no alcohol. If there IS alcohol, it is false advertising and illegal to remove the stickers.

Same here, in East Texas. Non ethanol gas has somehow been mostly eliminated in TX, with the exception of in and around marinas.
Conversely, in OK where my son lives, no ethanol gas is almost ubiquitous, and that is all he uses.
Same here. The missing sticker is a GOOD thing.
It’s all I use anymore.
Think of it like an investment...costs more, but prolongs the life of your car.
Meanwhile, here in the police state of New York I can happily tell you of all the Stewarts shops (Local convenience store chain who is very good to the community) has had 91 octane ethanol free gas for some time. Yes it costs more, but worth it to me. Mileage wise I make the same in the end as the improvement in performance makes it worth taking better care of the engine with it.
