After analysing high-resolution scans of the walls of Tutankhamun's grave complex in the Valley of the Kings, Dr Reeves spotted what appeared to be a secret entrance. He described how he uncovered the 'ghosts' of two portals that tomb builders blocked up, one of which is believed to be a storage room.
The other, on the north side of Tutankhamun's tomb, contains 'the undisturbed burial of the tomb's original owner - Nefertiti', Dr Reeves argued.
If Dr Reeves is correct, the hidden tomb could be far more magnificent than anything found in Tutankhamun's burial chamber.
He believes it is her tomb due to its position positioned to the right of the entrance shaft, which is far more typical of Egyptian queens rather than kings.
The small size of Tutankhamun's burial chamber, given his standing in the Egyptian history, has baffled experts for years and Dr Reeves' theory could suggest that it was built as an addition to an existing tomb - his mother's. Tutankhamun's burial chamber is the same size as an antechamber, rather than a tomb fit for an Egyptian King, for example.
Dr Reeve said the richness of the furnishings crammed into Tutankhamun's four small chambers as 'overwhelming'.

Dr Nicholas Reeves claims to have found evidence for the bricked up entrances to two additional chambers to Tutankhamun's tomb. These include the burial chamber for Queen Nefertiti, who Dr Reeves claims was the boy-kings co-regent and may even have been his mother, and new hidden storage room, as shown above
This is easily the most interesting discovery in the Valley of the (Jolly Ho Ho Ho) Kings since KV-63 — which was also pinpointed using non-invasive techniques, and by Reeves.
Also worth pointing out, Reeves thought KV-63 was going to be Nefertiti’s.
Velikovsky recounted that, in the 19th c, a bunch of stuff apparently from Nefertiti’s tomb showed up on the antiquities markets in Egypt, suggesting that her burial was found and plundered by modern tomb robbers.
A tiny gold scarab inscribed with Nefertiti’s name was found on the Ulu Burun wreck.
SunkenCiv predicts (really just guesses) that the likely outcome, if this wall is cut open, which it probably won’t be right away, is one of two things:
#1 — it will be empty, or found to contain more of King Tut’s burial goods (his death was sudden and his burial was hurried, and uncharacteristically carried out by his successor, the elderly Ay.
#2 — rather than Nefertiti, Tut’s father Akhenaten will be found behind that wall. Tut restored the cult of Amun, and changed his own name to reflect that restoration; he also built the main colonnade at that great big temple (the colonnade later recarved with the name of Ramses II “the Great”). Akhenaten’s burial was never found, although his nearly-finished tomb still exists near the ruins of his capital Akhetaten. The sarcophagus is empty.
And btw, thanks Facebook for the tip about this find, normally your push content sucks crap. Oh, and a big Intercourse You for nuking my SC acc’t over there.

Very exciting and interesting.
I hope that non-invasive exploration is permitted, and this year or next.

Just in time for the new movie...Pyramid!
Stunning that there is still a great deal more to learn about the Egyptian Royals, after all this time, and documentation. The western world has been fascinated with the time of Pharoah’s and Queens for decades. Think of all the research they must have done to produce the movie, Cleopatra with Liz Taylor.
Haven’t heard of it. Are the Egyptians black in that? (Assuming that the movie is about Egypt at all).
Class C movie, most Egyptians are depicted as either extras or mummy zombie bait.
very interesting
They need to hire Geraldo to help them with the excavation.
Logical location for her remains: making sammiches no doubt.

There’s also at least one undiscovered tomb in the KV, reported as a filled-in staircase in the 19th century.
Fascinating.
Makes for one yuuuug game of hide and seek.
What very interesting collection of links. BOOKmark for later read
Here’s the link to Reeves’ paper, it’s a 13 meg d/l, PDF:

Wouldn’t it be something if he’s correct?
