I think Megyn Kelly is a Class Act
8/10/2015 | Nikos 1121

I've agonized, like many here, these past couple days. I honestly believed there was a concerted effort to embarrass and knock Trump off, a conspiracy if you will, but I’ve come full circle and now feel differently, very differently.

I don’t think there was any conspiracy. I think the Fox trio, worked hard to challenge the candidates, and independently from Rupert Murdock or Ailes or anyone else.

Right out of the gate it was great TV. After the opening salvo, you didn’t want to turn your tv off.

And what happened? Each candidate was hit with a zinger. Trump was hit the most, and I doubt that anyone else running for office could have answered like he did.

He swatted their best shots as well as Newt would.

And what else happened? Fox tried to take the rest of the group out with tough questions. And they all rose to the occasion, except maybe Bush, who seemed to play it safe...perhaps Walker too.

I think all in all Fox showed why the interviews of Obama are a big joke. Obama or Hillary could never stand up to the barrage that our side took last week.

And I am proud of everyone, including Chris, Kelly and Brett... and all of our candidates.

I pray that eventually we will all coalesce and unite. I think Trump can and will do that. It makes no sense to run third party... makes no sense. He's way ahead now, and he's taking shots left and right.

What is left now, is for someone to sit down with him, and ask him some serious policy questions about our country, and how he sees us winning. He can tell us. It's right there in his book, Making America No. One Again.

I'm waiting for some one like Kelly to have read the book and ask him questions on what he says in the book.

The bottom line, if you can't handle Chris, Kelly and Brett, how in the heck are you going to handle Putin, the Chinese, the Iranians etc?

I hope Trump rises to the occasion and doesn’t op out on any future debates. I hope he remain himself.

I think he will. He fired his manager, who apparently was a milktoast.

If Kelly is smart she'll find some way to make it right with Trump. She'll invite him back on her show.

He'll refuse of course, then eventually he'll accept, and it will be the biggest show of her career, and the two will be best of friends.

You know why? because she is a lot like Trump.

She's a class act. She could taken Erickson's invite, who btw is a classless act, a joke and a loser.

In short, I am excited. The top four, Trump, Cruz, Carson and Carli and all outsiders. What does that tell you folks!!!!?

This is a sublinimal message. They put in the headline so, that 80% of the population who read headlines only, and not the story, will repeat it. “classact” like her appearance on H.S....real classy broad.

I agree, but he handled it didn’t he? Then they ban him from the Atlanta thingy on Sunday, and guess what, he’s still on top!!!!!!

Hey, Folks, he owns these people... and probably all of us for that matter. He’s on the OTHER channels today, and will be in the coming days to show FOX what he can do for their ratings also.

Like I said, Trump, is loving this. He’s playing us all like a Yietsak Perlmann playing a Stradivarius.

He was handed another six weeks of playing the underdog and fighting back.

I’m loving it....!!! :-)

Rising to the occasion in the face of boorish and low-brow behavior is to be commended.

But I do think the FOX moderators were unprofessional at best. The event was called a debate, which my dictionary defines as a formal discussion under a specified procedure. The FOX debacle was a lightning round of “gotcha” questions designed to destroy the candidates and make news. Equal time was not given, especially since the snarky moderators ate up a third of it.

Many million viewers tuned in to see it, including many low-fo voters. Did they learn, perhaps for the first time, about Hillary’s criminal email scandal, that the IRS is being used as a gestapo or that our nation is in debt to the tune of trillions and may go the way of Greece? That Obamacare is wreaking havoc on personal finances and is not a success, or that the work force participation is at a forty-year low? That we still do not know where Obama and Hillary were the night our ambassador was killed in Benghazi?

Not likely, since the questions were mostly of the Barbara Walters variety. I’m surprised Megyn Kelly didn’t ask Ted Cruz “if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?”

Excellent summary!

Megyn Kelly crowed about her plan to target Trump during the debate days before the event happened. And you say there is no conspiracy.

At this moment you are the wrongest wrong man in Wrong Town.

It is the ‘older folks’ that helped to create the problem. What you do not like the person wrote something as a criticism of Trump. Damn, how many years was the media in the navel gazing of Obama. Suddenly the media asks some questions that do not flatter Trump, so Meghan Kelly has to be exocoriated by others on FR as a whore, a bimbo. So she stated what a lot of people have wanted to ask trump. So it is only okay for the gander to criticizes, but when a goose asks a question. Suddenly the immature older folks are criticizing the young people. Hold on buddy the politics is a changing and this is not your father’s Buick anymore, it maybe A toyota, Honda, or volkswagen. The analogy is that the old traditions are out the door, so Trump has stated the obvious, BUT Trump has not been any saint himself. So stop belittling others that they are children when they are stating something that others are thinking too. So where you when Trump was beliitling others, did you get up and stand up to Trump. You my Freeper need to get your head out of Trumps navel and see a little bit more of what is going on.

Exactly. The moderators are trying to be the focus instead of the candidates.

These debates are stupid, and if I were Trump, I would not participate in them.

TRue, she could have made the question, friendlier. She didn’t. She has some learning to do.

Megyn has been very tough on the Clinton email scandal. I like Megyn and watch her often.

People weren’t complaining when she was asking tough questions of Bush.

If you can’t take the heat stay out of the kitchen - and off Megyn’s show.

Trump has made a mistake in attacking conservative women like Megyn and Carly. Who will he attack next - maybe Sarah?

“The bottom line, if you can’t handle Chris, Kelly and Brett, how in the heck are you going to handle Putin, the Chinese, the Iranians etc?”

This.

The moderators may or may not have been twits with ulterior motives (I didn’t watch), but he has to be able to handle whatever is thrown at him.

They hit them all. Trump more than the others, but he was the front runner.

I just think journalists should seek to inform. They should not take sides, and they should not seek to entertain.

The Fox moderators took sides and tried to be part of the act when they should have used the opportunity to get as much useful candidate information out there as possible so the public can make fully informed voting decisions.

Friendly? No she should have been giving these people Presidential questions. I already emailed her and Fox about her retiring and am going to contact the sponsors as well.

Yes, she has learning to do: “she got carried away”. It was all too much.
If she learned that from the experience she’ll do all right IMO.

She actually was in bed in her hotel room at 3pm sick as a dog with nausea and vomiting, sweating. She thought it was food poisoning. She was about to call in that she was not going to make the debate. She then took an anti-emetic, and felt better...to the point from she kinda rose again as she was not going to make it a few hours before the debate.

The picture depicts that, not that she was coming out for bear.

Like I said, she’s a tough little cookie, and I’m glad she’s on our side not theirs.

Then you can always check Rupert's tweets. I don't tweet, but I've read Murdoch's.

Orders came from Murdoch and finally Ailes agreed.

She confirmed her nasty bias on the last question to Ted Cruz: “Did God speak to you?”

Kelly’s snarky, smug and arrogant persona was easily seen - i.e. anyone who believes in God MUST be stupid.
