SEATTLE, Wash. — The mayor of Seattle and his housing committee have unveiled a plan to increase housing in the city, with a portion of the plan proposing the offering of Sharia law-compliant loans for Muslim residents.
Among the number of ideas offered to make housing more affordable for Seattle residents is a segment that addresses Muslim beliefs, as Sharia law forbids usury for its adherents.
“For our low—and moderate—income Muslim neighbors who follow Sharia law—which prohibits the payment of interest or fees for loans of money—there are limited options for financing a home,” the proposed plan reads. “Some Muslims are unable to use conventional mortgage products due to religious convictions.”
“The City will convene lenders, housing nonprofits and community leaders to explore the best options for increasing access to Sharia-compliant loan products to help these residents become homeowners in Seattle,” it says.
Arsalan Bukhari, chapter executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told the Puget Sound Business Journal that he believes that there are approximately two hundred Seattle residents who identify as Muslim that avoid taking out home loans because of their religion.
“[T]hey don’t want to pay interest,” he said.
Mayor Ed Murray mentioned the proposal at a recent press conference, which will go to city counsel for consideration.
“We will work to develop new tools for Muslims who are prevented from using conventional mortgage products due to their religious beliefs,” he said.
Not a problem...just don't sell them a house.

Muslims already have informal ‘banks’ to handle this using Sharia law. No need for government to establish a religion. Who will sue to stop this?
Perhaps I can start a new religion called Taxolithism in which believers cannot pay taxes.
They’ll just have to make banking a little more expensive for everyone else.

For decades we were told that we must “make up for wrongs” done to certain groups of people and give them favored status.
Now the tables have totally turned as Amerikans are literally slaves to invading hordes of muslims and illegals. We work to support them through gov’t “programs”, food stamps, equal housing, and now interest free loans.
Let’s face it—don’t ever let some liberal or muslim fool you that they want equality. They don’t! They want you, to be subservient to them period.
That's what really ticks me off. If they want to live under Sharia Law, why did they come here in the first place? This political correctness is destroying this Republic with rot from within.
Where is the Freedom From Religion Foundation on this issue. This would seem to be providing a public benefit based on a specific religion.

They spread through out the world for dominance. They can’t do that staying in their birth place. Their main objective is Sharia all over the world! They have many children, so it probably will happen eventually.
Pretty sure Muslims do charge other Muslims interest, they are just sneaky about it. If memory serves it is hidden in percentages of property transferred with payments.
Look up Musharaka mortgages.
I hear they are pretty good unless you get behind in payments. Then they cost you an arm and a leg . . . and a head . . . .
