The Washington Post's reporting of Donald Trump's statement saying that Arizona Sen. John McCain is "not a war hero" miscast the GOP presidential candidate's words, investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson says.
Attkisson, the former CBS News reporter, posted a fact-check of the Post's report on her website, saying that the newspaper had left out the context of Trump's remarks, including the ongoing feud between him and McCain. McCain called Trump supporters at a recent anti-illegal immigration rally "crazies."
Attkisson also noted that although the Post reported Trump's initial statement that McCain was not a war hero, it did not report four instances immediately following in which Trump said that McCain was a war hero:
"He is a war hero."
"He's a war hero because he was captured."
"He’s a war hero, because he was captured."
"I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people."
Attkisson asks, "Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post."
Attkisson said the Post's characterization did not appear to be an accident because it was repeated in a caption of the accompanying video clip, which read, "Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam war veteran, was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese."
"Trump actually said the opposite of what the Post lead sentence and video caption claim," Attkisson wrote. "The Post might have been able to get away stating that Trump 'implied' McCain was not a war hero because McCain was captured, but even that would have been a subjective interpretation since Trump had actually stated the opposite."

Powerful people on the left and the right want Trump out. If not him, they would be targeting others. That’s how they play the game. It is appalling and most anti-republic.

The Donald has only the greatest respect for our military and is (rightly) outraged by they’re treated. On and off the battlefield.
America’s best would be proud to serve under his command.
As I posted on another thread. If 75% of the Republican base and Independents wanted Trump to be the nominee, the GOPe, at the convention, would still nominate Jeb Bush.
Trump is getting a lot of support from military/former military on Twitter.

Three on Fox tried to trap Trump today. He called into the show and quoted Attkisson among other remarks. He had the last word!
Yep, this is calculated. They hoped to have created a “pile on” and get rid of Trump or make him too toxic to support, especially among celebrities or other politicians.
This whole discussion gets on my last nerve.
The term ‘Hero’ needs to be taken completely out of the equation. McCain did what he did, or didn’t do, let’s discuss that. He has no claim to the title of ‘hero’ or anything else.
Let a man’s discovered actions speak for themselves.
What we do know, is that McCain and Kerry conspired back in the early 90’s to ensure that records concerning their service, and the available records of MIA’s were kept classified.
I hope Trump sues them all for slander.
