Those who are liking Trump are probably not McCain fans at all.

Trump probably did not lose many by his remarks.

McCain, of course, got a nod of approval from the Media with his Wacko Birds comment several years ago and his Crazies remark recently.

Good for Trump. It’s high time someone finally called out the songbird.

I learned a lot from a guy who flew with McCain. He is a freeper very private and I won’t speak for him and his experiences. BUT what I learned was pretty interesting and not flattering. McCain is not a hero, and I suspect Trump knows the truth. Trump is no dummy and before he speaks be assured he knows everything there is to know.

Actual words spoken verbatim:

Frank Luntz, who was leading the Q&A session, repeatedly protested, “He’s a war hero.”

Trump responded, “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, okay? I hate to tell you.” Trump re-iterated, “He’s a war hero because he was capture, okay? You can have — and I believe — perhaps he’s a war hero, but right now, he said some very bad things about a lot of people. So, what I said is, John McCain, I disagree with him, that these people aren’t crazy.”

Trump’s rise really has little to do with Trump the man, it is about the mood in this country that is just so disgusted with “Business as Usual.”

The media is always looking for a ‘gotcha’ moment. They think they have one with this issue.

Trump has, however, managed to stay in the headlines. The Sunday morning news-talks will be covering Trump's remarks and getting the opposition (mostly Republicans) to chime in and diss Trump.

This could be a headline event for half-a-week.

That kind of free publicity is gold for political campaigns.

Maybe one day the gop will go after liberals as hard as they go after conservatives. we’d be living in a much better USA than we are today.

I think you are correct. All of the candidates with the exception of Trump, Fiorina and Carson are of, by and for the almighty government. Hell, most of them currently hold elective office and the others are just in between offices. I wonder how the voters feel about not having a Governor or a Senator or Congressional Representative even though they elected one and he is drawing the paycheck.

Pretty much a meaningless internet poll but it’s nice to stick it in the eye of the MSM who is really the target behind all the voter frustration.

Trump isn’t really saying much different on this than a lot of Dems did in 2008, talking about how he was a crappy Naval officer and pilot who only made it through USNI and flight school because of his family Naval pedigree, was such a bad pilot that he got himself shot down, and was crazy. (er, “erratic”) because he was tortured.

The Dems did similar in 1988 and 1992 with George HW Bush, saying that he’d left his two TBM Avenger crewmen to die when he bailed out after being shot up.

Trump is too used to shooting from the hip. At some point he has to develop the discipline to not say stupid things if he’s serious about going the distance in the primaries.
//////////
Fast talking might be good for making deals, but in this day and age in politics, smart talking is better.

Trump needs to apologize to McCain. Be the better man. Then move on. If he doesn’t he will continue to make mistakes and not correct them. That will add up and the people he angers will add up. McCain could have come home early but he stayed.

Sen. McCain was a prisoner of war from 1967 to 1973
Where was Mr. Donald Trump....... from 1967 to 1973 ?

Says who? Says you? Who are you? You’re nobody.

First of all, Semper Fi and thanks for serving.

I appreciate the fact McCain served our country but as a Republican member of congress he is a conservative failure.

Do some digging on the man and you’ll begin to see McCain in a different light. You might start with this book -
The Real McCain: Why Conservatives Don’t Trust Him and Why Independents Shouldn’t Paperback – May 1, 2008
hard-hitting profile of a political celebrity, this book analyzes John McCains out-of-the-mainstream stances and expedient flip-flops on the economy, campaign finance reform, the Iraq war, and other key issues.
