RUSH: McKinney, Texas. You heard of that town? You heard of McKinney, Texas? Very nice little town. Police are called to a gated private swimming pool. It seems that African-American kids are sending out text messages to each other about where to go to mob the swimming pool that is not theirs. I mean, they don't have any right to be there, I'm sorry to say, don't fire me, please. They don't have any right to be there. It's not their pool. It's somebody else's pool. It's gated, but they found their way in, they're texting out, "Everybody, come on, join us."

They mob the area, they jump the fence, get aggressive, unruly, having sex all over the place, screaming curse words, and they do this because there's no place for them to go swim. They feel discriminated against. They don't have any swimming pools, so they go and find somebody else's, send out messages to be joined and then people join 'em. So there were mothers with their young children at the pool. These people happen to be paying for the pool, by the way -- ahem, sorry, that's I know insensitive to say. And these mothers call the cops, and so the cops come. Cops arrive.

It’s not like you’ve been told

Blacks in the rural south are far less hostile to whites even though they outnumber us in some places by crazy margins

It’s relatively safe

Not like during segregation by any means but better than south Atlanta or North Memphis

I noticed hostility from blacks towards whites up north even in the mid 60s in NYC which was and still is to a big degree segregated

Illegitimacy and govt dependence and lack of daddies and violence amongst themselves is pretty much steady in black community wherever you are and even amongst rich blacks illegitimacy is higher

The huge contradiction in all this is black communities were safer and more dads and intact families and church going during segregation when the white community could pressure black leaders

And white communities honestly behaved better too

I’m going on what I’ve been told or read

A lifetime of family in civil rights days and living as a minority in black communities worldwide for 57 years

It’s complicated by I stand by my other civilization lag opines

We just whistle past the graveyard

I never expected this growing up I was actually naive enough to think it would get better

I would love for them to turn things around. They have been duped and dont even know it.

Well, we absolutely agree on that point. And, to be clear, there are many solid, strong families. But obviously, there are a great number of absent fathers, and there are many big problems with thugs. Most people would like to see all people thrive and become successful.

It was SO MUCH easier 24 years ago lol.

I have to admit that IMHO cabbies are a rough bunch. lol. It looked like a tough job back then, too.

Why on earth do folks always put up exceptions to disprove the rule

No one here said the black community as a whole doesn't have problems. It's obvious there are big problems.

But you seem to be arguing that Democrat policies have nothing to do with those problems - if I understood your post correctly - and that the people are somehow unable to live differently.

Whereas I'm arguing that plenty of white communities have the same problems, that certain Democrat policies worsen those problems, and that the problems are social, not racial.

BTW, I have a theory based on observation: I'm convinced that some (if not most) of you lamenting these problems used to (dare I say it?) believe in liberal policies at one point in your lives. And now you're disillusioned. Am I right?

That's a common story I've been hearing here for years from multiple freepers. At one point, these people had a different point of view. Then either they were burned or became disillusioned.

But, where I lived, there was criminal behavior among all types of people. So, I see things differently. I know too many good families, so I'm just tired of the excuses from other people.

Until now, I've always lived in areas with high black populations.

Maybe you've never lived in a town where "white" neighborhoods were just as dangerous as "black" neighborhoods. But I did.

The black Delta—hahaha. Even back in the Seventies, my white older stepsister who was living in the Delta was raped by a black home invader while her husband was at work. That young white girl who was recently murdered, I can only recall the first name Jessica, was in one of those black-run small Delta counties-the girl who had gasoline poured down her throat followed by a lit match. Last I heard, no arrests. The media of course never bally-hooed this crime.

Really? Surely you jest. Are you seriously angry about something I posted? I was very polite to you. As for changing your mind, I specifically said I know I can’t change your mind, and even thanked you for your candor.

In return, you’re offended? By what? So offended that you pinged an entire posse to back you up? WTH? I didn’t even expect this conversation to continue. I came home and was very surprised by your reaction.

I’ve been opposed to the kind of behavior at that pool and the excuses made for it, and you’re here jumping all over me. Over what?

I don’t understand what more you want me to tell you. I’ve already told you my experience: I grew up in a town with a lot of problems among all types of people. Think of every crime imaginable - murder, rape, burglary, etc. - and it was committed by all types of people in that town.

It’s a shame because there are good people still living there, but then there are the criminals. I could sit here and list all the crimes that I know about, and my guess is that you’d believe every crime I list as committed by black people but probably none of the crimes I list as committed by white people.

Here’s the issue you brought up: That it’s your belief that, as you put it, “God may love us all alike but we are not all alike in capability.” My contention is that we ARE all capable of making the right decisions in life. People aren’t born to be criminals; they make those choices.

Why any conservative would have a problem with that statement, I have no idea.
