Roots’ on the History Channel: Remaking a Lie (Roots ghost-written and plagiarized)
Frontpagemag ^ | 05/29/2015 | Jack Kerwick

In 1976, Alex Haley authored the nearly 1,000 page, Roots: The Saga of An American Family. The following year, ABC aired a mini-series that was based upon it. Both book and television show proved to be tremendous successes. Now, the History Channel has officially announced that it will remake Root There’s only one problem: Roots is a fake and Haley is a fraud—and a fraud on multiple levels.

The general liberal viewpoint was that “The story itself was too important for people be concerned with fact”.

The usual “Agenda Matters: truth doesn’t” viewpoint of the left.

In place of objective reasoning, postmodernists use storytelling that appeal to the emotions as a better way to arrive at equitable law, since it is open to multiple points of view and varied interpretations. Stories are easier to manipulate to meet a political end than are empirical facts.

Strategic theory is the belief that since there are no true theories, the revolutionary way is to promote a story that strategically accomplishes what needs to be accomplished. It doesn't matter that it is false.

The History Channel is a joke.

Their special about Bigfoot sailing the Flying Dutchman into the Bermuda Triangle and finding Atlantis did it for me.

I’ll bet the remake ends with a little blackish boy being born in Hawaii to loving hipster multi-culti parents, who lift him up and say, “One day our lil’ black baby could be presidint of these heah Unita Ma States. Good Lawd willin’ yas sihr!”

"Otherwise; people may "forget" that there were black slaves at one time and start to think that success is achievable for anyone who wants to pursue it. They are just doing their part to ensure the grievance industry continues to thrive."

The left is constantly at it to make sure we don't forget. In fact, they never shut up about it.

"Robert Rogers and John Graves Simcoe are among my favorites. Simcoe was a ruthless and brutal foe known for massacres of patriots at the same time he was a staunch abolitionist. The “Turn” TV series showed him writing a love letter to Anna Strong but historically he is believed to have written the first known Valentines day card to Anna Strong’s sister. He’s a big hero in Canada where every town has schools and streets named after him."

And may that excellent show see a third season...

Can’t really do much more than 1 more season.

After the showing of ROOTS II, blacks in Hot Springs Arkansas went on a mini-riot breaking windows and such.

I tend to believe that was the purpose for making the movie in the first place...

Plus the fact that moslems would castrate the males they captured, cutting EVERYTHING off. That is why blacks never reproduced in Arabia.

The emasculated males then would be put to digging wells and other sort of killer jobs. If one died, another was cheap just across the mountains. There was an endless supply.

I am s sick of “black” slaves. One of my ancestors, who came over on the Mayflower, was an indentured servant. That, too, is “slavery.”

But he is the only one I know of for sure — there may have been many other “true” slaves in my ancestry, but he is the most recent.

And by the way...slavery in America? How about the Native Americans who were here to greet the Europeans? Some of my ancestors were here to meet those who crossed the oceans, so I get a little “testy” when the word “slave” comes up. No one has the lock on the board for that, in this country or any other.

Lots of Africans were sold into slavery by family members.

Muslims enslaved and exported, over the centuries, roughly the same number of black Africans as Europeans. They started much sooner and extended the trade a few decades longer. Their slaves went to Turkey, North Africa, Persia, India and such. They only stopped (mostly) because Europeans, mainly Brits, forced them to.

But they didn’t sell slaves directly to Europeans for shipment across the Atlantic. They probably would have, but the powerful black African kings along the coast wouldn’t let them.

If it makes you feel any better...

Recently a relative and her three small children visited me in Annapolis. As we walked past the Haley sculpture dockside, one of the kids tripped over one of the sculptures of the children laying at Haley’s feet. The other two immediately started kicking the sculpture and calling it names in defense of their sibling. Haven’t laughed so hard in ages...

;’) That first came out when the show was airing, or perhaps shortly thereafter.

I’m not certain but pretty sure that in the first ‘Roots’ episode where Kunta & company are being driven, bound in yokes, the slave drivers are dressed in Arab slavers mufti very much like the native east African costume Barry Obama modeled for us.
Remember that outlandish (I. Just. Don’t. Care) outfit he had on, white, crossed in front, some sort of MC Hammer balloon pants and a round pillbox-type hat?
Yeah, Abe Lincoln indeed. More like Africa’s counterpart to Simon Legree and another aspect to our schizophrenic attitudes on race.
