I like hamburger and don’t have a television. What does that mean?
Yup. But this nation still out produces the rest of the planet by a wide margin. And our military (actual war fighters, not the leadership) is far superior to anything else the world has ever seen.
So there is still some slim hope...
Love your tag line. And agree.
I believe it is still true that Americans give more to charities than any other population on earth
I think the author sounds like a self-satisfied elitist fussbudget.
wow....
heading out to the gym right now.
then coming home to make a kale and quinona salad.
“Am I being too harsh on the American people?”
NO! You’re right. Americans are a bunch of slobs. Everyday I see things that wouldn’t have been thought of 20 or 30 years ago. Satan has us in a hugh bear hug.
Lord quickly come.
Demographics underlie a lot of this.
“#5 The average American family purchases 200 pounds of meat per family member each year.”
How on earth does that prove anyone is a slob?
“#6 Large numbers of cows that are killed for hamburger meat in America stand ankle-deep in their own manure all day long.”
Again, how does that prove we are slobs?
Well, I think he’s right. Summer is slob season, IMO.
But he left one very important factor off that list: flip-flops.
Actually number 9 is wrong. Mexicans consume more soda than Americans do.
What do drinking soda, home mortgages, divorce, or plastic surgery have to do with anyone’s being “slobs”?
This sounds like something Gwyneth Paltrow would write.
Commonality?
Corn, zea mays, is a major part of the diet, as corn tortillas in Mexico and high fructose corn syrup in the USA.
If a farmer wants to fatten his livestock, what is the feed of choice, hmmmm?
Other things being equal, wheat-flour tortillas have more calories and fat than corn.
But he left one very important factor off that list: flip-flops.”
Went to several stores today trying to purchase a decent pair of summer sandals - couldn’t find any, regardless of the price I was willing to pay. I will wear flip flops before I buy any of those ugly women’s shoes.
Even in the 30's a zaftig (or larger) gal was often described as "corn fed".
Now we're all "corn fed"...
This guy has no friends and no fun.
I have been around cattle all my life and I have never seen cows ankle deep in poop. Pure BS. The cattle men in our neck of the woods take great care of their livestock, spending a lot of money on vets and medicine on their cows.
