Corn, zea mays, is a major part of the diet, as corn tortillas in Mexico and high fructose corn syrup in the USA.

If a farmer wants to fatten his livestock, what is the feed of choice, hmmmm?

Other things being equal, wheat-flour tortillas have more calories and fat than corn.
