Well said.

Like I said earlier. I have just eliminated Cruz because I feel I cannot trust him. When it mattered he was fine with unconstitutional legislative secrecy and abdicating congressional powers to a President he said he recognizes as a threat to us all.

Walker has his own problems, which have been cited in numerous threads (although if he is the nominee, I will vote for him). He survived one recall, not two. He should’ve run in 2012 when I called for him to be drafted to stop Zero’s ringer, Willard. His being able to win at the statewide level is no guarantee at the national level. Wisconsin hasn’t voted GOP for President since 1984.

I would go so far as to say that the state may still not vote for Walker for President if he is the nominee. They didn’t vote for Willard with Ryan on the ticket. My state didn’t vote for Gore in 2000, which many couldn’t imagine (including Gore) not happening (that being Tennessee), except for yours truly, who predicted he would not carry the state.

Most of the others you cite are no-gos. Rubio is a slimy weasel who turned into the cretin he ran against (Crist, AKA The Orange Menace), selling out his supporters before the ink on his election certificate was dry. Jindal has become highly unpopular during his tenure in LA, and that baggage will carry over (and he really isn’t “Presidential” in his presentation). Paul is nuts, period. Trump is a celebrity whom I consider non-serious. He’s had ample opportunity to aim lower and run for NY Governor (or especially, NYC Mayor), both badly in need of leadership.

Walker and Cruz are really the only two at this point, but I support Cruz simply because that when it comes to Washington, he knows where the bodies are buried. Walker lacks for that knowledge and experience, and those are two totally different animals (state vs. national).

Is that like the difference between Trotskyite and Trotskyist?

this forum is becoming a mouthpiece for cruz.

One thread got pulled for not meeting the rules, and you decide to have a little hissy fit!

Out of all those Walker threads that are being flooded on this forum, one thread got pulled and you think that makes the forum a "mouthpiece for cruz".

Are all the Walker people as nutty as you?

Those who bash Ted Cruz for this either have another horse in this race or have a agenda to bring him down.

It’s pointless to waste oxygen on these propagandist who constantly spew out their propaganda without bothering to even look at what Ted Cruz is saying here.

They are as bad as the Mittens brigade that we had here 4 years ago.

Just to let you know, pal, I’ve been out here speaking against crap RINOs since I arrived here. I detested and abhorred McQueeg (Zero’s Ringer for 2008) and was even louder in my opposition to Willard (Zero’s Ringer for 2012) and countless other RINO frauds.

I asked a simple, straightforward question. You’re bashing Cruz all over the place all the while not mentioning who your candidate is that is infinitely greater. Now... so you like Walker ? That’s fine, I place him at #2 in the current field. I have some reservations about him, and the amnesty thing is concerning. Jindal doesn’t rise to “Presidential” for me, and he’s become highly unpopular in his state in his last term (and there’s good unpopular and bad unpopular, and his is bad).

One name not mentioned here is Maine’s Paul LePage, arguably the best Governor in the country on par with Walker. A straight-shooter and an unapologetic Conservative, he is loathed by the left. If he ran, I’d have a very tough time choosing between him and Cruz.

As for your comments on Cruz, I’ll simply state that I don’t agree with your negative assessment of him. I do consider him very close to Reagan in stature. As I said earlier, I believe him to be a transformative and dynamic figure who can begin to repair the damage to the country.

Have you not figured out by now that the uniparty cabal spans most of the political spectrum?

Most haven't. GS connections are never just a coincidence. Anyone talking about being sick of voting for the lesser of two evils needs to realize that they're always doing that.

I have read both of your comments. Whether I agree or disagree it is the perception of both local 9-12 and Tea Party groups that he is ineligible.

They are “hung-up” on the Natural Born issue and just not going to accept your comment of his being born a citizen as acceptable.

They vow not to vote for several candidates for this reason and no PUSHING of facts will budge them. Parents later becoming citizens does not qualify them... Raised in America loving, Patriotic homes or dedication to the USA are qualifications equally falling on deaf ears.

Don’t bother with the “lesser of evils” they will accept Hillary before they will give in to the accepted practice or other arguments I have heard people confront them with.

Any suggestions?

Cruz—as the best among the gang offered.

But he too is pro-amnesty, etc.

Yep. The Koch brothers are talking about supporting five candidates—including Walker and Cruz—this year.

And so it begins, just as in 2008, just as in 2012. We begin to start here to rip good candidates before the real world has chosen a conservative to lead via primary vote. Instead of allowing this process to work itself out in the real world and THEN get behind the most conservative of THAT group, we start to pick and chose our own personal favorite and damn the rest.

I don’t just criticize you but all the others on this thread doing the same. Because it’s not just Walker being criticized here (which if that were the case I could understand) but even the likes of Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz! For goodness sakes I never thought it possible that anyone could find something to criticize him with!

But I guess I should have learned my lesson from the previous races in the last decade both Presidential and lesser: never put anything past the circular firing squad that is FreeRepublic.com

Might want to ask those who bash Ted Crush these questions.

1. Who is there canidate of choice and why are they better and more conservative than Ted Cruz ?

2. Exactly what did Scott Walker mean in his comment that he would have wanted the Patriot Act renewed as it stands ?

3. Those who bash Ted Cruz on voting for the USA Freedom Act bill as tyrannical, but yet ? Rand Paul supports a tyrant in Cuba by supporting Obama on Cuba and Obama’s policy towards the Castro regime ?

See cynwoody’s post at number 90. Reduce the size of the pic before posting.

Your pic of Walker and Ernst is 2592px x 2289px.

Cynwoody’s pic is 800px × 704px.

If you don’t know how to control the size of the pic, maybe you should stop posting hugh pics on FR.

no amount of emotional argument will matter. being an upstanding citizen, 20+ year military vet, or member of the PTA won’t matter.

if an ineligible candidate gets the nomination of their party, the opposing party has grounds to challenge their eligibility. if the GOP nominated such a person, the DNC candidate would immediately contest it with the SCOTUS.

and they would win... immediately disqualifying the GOP candidate... giving them the win on a walk.

try to divorce yourself from the emotional rhetoric and you can see how this would unfold.

that is why i say TCruz MUST get the SCOTUS to rule on his eligibility BEFORE the primary. if he avoids it... then he already knows what they would say.
