Interesting how close this prison break resembles Shawshack Movie.

Well, I guess there are only a few different ways to build prisons.

:-)

Yeah, we already spotted the manhole cover on satellite images. It had to be painstakingly slow and persistent to come up with the plan. I’d guess they probably had to change routes several times during their planning.

The bad guys here made the people running this joint look really bad here. Of course they had little to lose in putting this thing together.

If they put in as much time planning their post escape, they might never be found. That’s really the key for success for anyone contemplating this type of thing. This obviously would take outside assistance including cash. In today’s video world they’d have to disguise up and change their appearances asap. They’ll be putting every outside relation/contact under the microscope in this case.

If part of their plan included leaving the country, to be successful they’d likely have to avoid all commercial airports/transportation.

Then again, with 300+ people searching for them, no surprise if they’re caught by sun up.

I understand there was construction in the area or inside the prison. Probably where they got the power tools. Maybe an inside associate lent them some tools. Who knows.

If they do go totally off the radar, watch for the movie.

That cop killer is from my area. The officer was buried in the same cemetery where a lot of my family are buried.

Well, this went from the front page section of this site to the chat section. Someone clearly does not think this is important or news.

Cuomo's remarks at the news conference was intro'd by the NBC talking head, accurately -- that Cuomo seemed in awe of the escaped murderers.

Our joint also had an electric fence to get through, making a break out extremely difficult. We did not worry so much about that. We worried about some nerd walking out the front gate, with a fake ID card.

Some University out there wants to ‘paint a mural’ and celebrate with the lowlife killers...

Escapee groupies.

No surprise. People line up to marry Manson types.

Right up the street from the prison power plant. They had help. Architectural plans and information from trustee workers at the power plant and more.

Well it’s long after sun up and still no capture.

I think their plan might have also included elaborate post escape arrangements.

My high school was not far from there. Many of my friends and relatives became prison guards for NYS (I had a offer, but turned it down for safer work). CCS was run by the guards, and they took pride in that. Still have to feel there was some inside help, as CCS is no rinky-dink prison. They had better be out of the country too. If they decide to bushwack it and the locals catch them, they may never be found. Too many rednecks who know how to S, S, and S....

oh, yeah! Someone waiting with transportation, changes of clothing, passports, multi states’ drivers licenses, lots of cash ... you name it. I would imagine the initial move after coming out of the manhole cover was a quick trip across the border OR, better yet, hiding in plain sight.

If they could plan and execute this elaborate an escape using those power tools, their helper(s) could easily have simultaneously dug a hangout under their home near the prison. Lay low for a few weeks/months. Then with a changed appearance, do a zig zag out of town and out of the country. Buh Bye. Oh, and Have a Nice Day!

Yeah, We live in the Southern Tier, a virtual penal colony. CO class in inter-generational in some communities. If these guys are holed up somewhere, they will have to shows their faces sooner or later. To pull off an escape of this caliber requires a certain amount of sophistication. My guess would be Canada. They had to have had inside help, I am sorry to say it, either from the CO’s or info and tools provided by some outside construction contractor. Who the hell knows? It will make for a heck of a movie when they find out. It will take time , but, we’ll find out what happened.

These huge old facilities are constantly undergoing construction to maintain plumbing, electric or whatever. On my old job, back in the 80’s or early 90’s, we had an inmate turn in a ring of keys that could open all the major buildings and security gates for the whole joint. He found them in the main yard and turned them in. My partner who was a Local union official, put the keys in our locker, to see how long it would be before the alarm went out. We waited a month and nothing happened. Nobody reported missing keys ! True story.
