Just wanted to briefly say Thanks to everyone who made this site possible and celebrate my 10th Anniversary here.
I started off as a 'rat die-hard Kerry voter but simply being here made me see EVERYTHING better and my life has been completely different ever since.
Thank you all for all the great posts, amazing insights, excellent debates, the goofiness and , of course, all those threads with "rules".
Can't wait to see what the next 10 years will bring
Let's Roll!
You are from The Ukraine Too Daffy?
Cool!
Maybe you all can share what Ukraine is like.
I hear they have wonderful women there ;)

My 15th FR anniversary will be 9/13/15. Time flies while FReeping... ;-)
Newb.
“When did you emigrate to the US? I’m genuinely curious, because you described yourself as “started off as a ‘rat die-hard Kerry voter”. How long did it take you to start to suspect the Democrats represented what you were fleeing?”
1990, the most violent year in modern NYC history. With all the graffiti, burning barrels and garbage tornadoes. At first it seemed like I came from one zoo to another but things got much better.
Of course some of the anti-capitalist rhetoric did stick with me. I voted for Kerry in 2004 (the first Presidential election I was eligible for) but was already lurking here at the time.
I initially found out about you guys from DU when someone on there was making fun. Then I came here and slowly saw for myself who the true “fools” were...
Well at least you weren’t an Al Gore fan. Congratulations on your anniversary.
Since you embarrassed yourself at MY party, don’t expect me to come to yours...........
LOL, that's priceless!
And worth pinging Jim for it....
Welcome aboard.
(As a successful legal immigrant & now citizen, what you must think of today's American society and it's culture of entitlement.)
haha. It must be why they stopped having those threads making fun of FR.
Too many DUmmies leaving...
My mother was born in Kiev...outside of a few Ukrainian words and making pysanky at Eastertime......I’m not very versed in Ukrainian ways, except that maternal relastives who came here through Ellis Island were very hard working, stubborn and strongly nationalistic. The menfolk who were able, proudly served in the US military, and gave their lives.
One thing I recall about the first gen Ukies, that would not use their native tongue....they learned the language, ENGLISH. They were dang sure their children learned English as well. They were all about assimilation...and becoming Americans. Far different from what I see in today’s immigrants.
Whatever Blog Pimpnig, nOOb....
bump
FR is addictive — I’ve been on this site since before 9/11 and it’s good
Great!
Congratulations!
As am I. I lurked here during the Florida Recount, joined, and been here ever since.
Congrats on your ten year milestone!
Here’s to 10 more!
Mine was May 5th. :)
