Is that the date before or after all the calendar changes that have occurred since then?

I have read it in modern English and it is a surprisingly good example of protection for ordinary free men.

Great paragraph:

The American Revolutionaries weren’t rejecting their identity as Englishmen; they were asserting it. As they saw it, George III was violating the “ancient constitution” just as King John and the Stuarts had done. It was therefore not just their right but their duty to resist, in the words of the delegates to the first Continental Congress in 1774, “as Englishmen our ancestors in like cases have usually done.”

Take five minutes and you’ll know how to post links.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3242857/posts

Simple way is if you don’t use any other HTML codes in the entire post you
are making all you have to do copy and paste the URL you want to link to.
It’ll post just like the one I posted above.

The Magna Carta - just one more reason why Obama hates the English.

I have mixed feelings about the Magna Carta. On the one hand it gave us a good blueprint for our system of government.

OTOH, it removed crimes against individuals. Crime is now a violation against the state. Victims do not prosecute crimes against themselves. They must trust, and await justice from, the state.
