Comment: Yeah, and we probably overreacted to that Pearl Harbor misunderstanding too /s

We should have cut the ropes on the balloons and let the damn island sink.

I am sure the Brits would not have overreacted to German invasion forces.

IMO we didn’t “overreact” any where near enough

true. if americans ran the UK, we would’ve wiped out all resistance in northern ireland after the first cafe bombing... assuming we didn’t have a prancing poofta as president

I guess us Americans are all just a bunch of morons because we expect to be safe within our own borders during peacetime.

We need to be like other countries - put up with terrorists, allow them to vent by blowing stuff up and just get used to it. Its the only way the poor terrorists can express themselves....because white privilege or something.

Yeah, the same Brits who collectively yawned when a Muslin sawed off the head of one of their solders on a busy sidewalk in broad daylight.

May God forbid if I ever become this “resilient”.

So what would have been an appropriate reaction to the demolition of two skyscrapers in London and the death of nearly 3000 Brits?

I still think the proper reaction would have involved multiple nuclear weapons, but that’s just over-reaction on my part ‘cause I’m only a stupid colonial.

Dear Professor,

The Anglo Saxon vs Irish “cousin fights”, have nothing
in common with the murderous act of 9/11, in NYC.

Economically, the commodity trading pits were in the
lower accesses of The Twin Towers. Your’s are either
in London or Dublin.

Socially, the ‘cousin fight’ is a religious and political
fight of the regal governing and the subjugated.

America, as of yet, has not become a fealty, and since
your well fed posterior sits in England, you cannot
‘get’ that internal business called. The American Spirit.

The murderous act of 9/11 was performed by a theocratic
society that demands the unbelievers be put to the sword.

British regal edicts of genocide do not, and cannot
equate.

Yeah, and we probably overreacted by entering the war in Europe, after being attacked by Japan.

You're welcome.

I’d say that Americans are pretty resilient. Our ancestors left that HELL HOLE the United Kingdom for a better life in America. It was not an easy trip and America was completely unknown and most had nothing but after a couple of generations, prospered.

Yes, Americans were resilient. Lets hope that we don’t forget.

Maybe we should have been more subdued in our reaction in the mid 1940’s...

I’d love to ask her to remind us which car bomb killed 3,000 people and how the folks in the faculty lounge reacted to that event.

In fact, the IRA’s total slaughter spread over 40 years was only half the death toll of 9/11. If the whole history of IRA terrorism since 1969 were doubled and compressed into a single day in the middle of London I doubt she’s be winging about English “overreactions”.

Yes, I guess it depends on how you define “overreaction”. The Brits let Northern Ireland fester, for, oh 75 years or so. If you like protracted wars as a sign of “resilience”, well good for the Brits. The last time we were so heinously attacked was Dec 7, 1941. After rounding up Japanese Americans, dispossessing them and putting them in internment camps, we paid Japan back by burning every major city there to ashes and installing a second sun in the sky over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They started it, we ended it. Took the vinegar out of them, eh what? Turned Japan into a peace-loving country in the process. Compared to Pearl Harbor, I’d say we’ve mellowed a bit when responding to 9/11

Is this some sort of atonement for her IRA sympathies as a teenager? As someone who lived and worked in London during the IRA bombing campaign in the 60's & 70's my experience was that the Brits weren't resilient, they were passive.

I stayed in this Hotel a week before this incident Docklands bombing

They never pursued the IRA into Eire when they were using it as a safe haven and then after the bombing campaign died down they made Martin McGuiness, a murderer, the education secretary and never prosecuted Gerry Adams who authorized the murder of a woman in Northern Ireland.

Resilient my *ss

‘overreacted’?

Ha!

If I’d been in charge of the response, these nancies would still be soiling their panties.
