From using cell phones and computers to watching movies online, wireless technology has made life easier. But now, some say there is a serious downside.
As CBS2s Maurice Dubois explained, there are those who claim that exposure to wi-fi is making people sick, and some people dont even know it.
Brain fog. Thats my worst problem. A brain fog, Suzanne Hoyt said.
Hoyt said that nothing prepared her for the rush of symptoms that she suddenly developed.
Headaches, perspiration, pain in my jaws and my heart. Its like physical expansion of the heart, she said.
Hoyt said it all started when she installed wi-fi throughout her apartment.
I started to be very uncomfortable, and I didnt know what it was, she said.
With wi-fi everywhere, from parks to restaurants and taxis it turns out Hoyt is not alone.
It was like a deep burning sensation in my face, in my nose, my jaw, it was like a deep burning sensation, she said.
Its called wi-fi sensitivity, and doctors say its a very real condition with serious consequences.
Dr. David Carpenter, an Environmental Scientist and expert on wi-fis effects said the scientific link between wi-fi and health is clearly emerging.
There is a body of evidence that is strong. its not 100 percent understood, but its strong evidence that this is a real syndrome that causes real harm to real people, he said.
Dr. Carpenter said its a significant problem for about 5 percent of the population, many of them have no idea that wi-fi is to blame.
They walk around feeling ill and they dont know what to do about it, he said.
Other doctors counter that the evidence connecting wi-fi to illness just isnt there.
Its a psychological phenomenon, neuropsychologist Dr. William Barr said.

Probably true but that frequency is the important thing. The only corollary I can think of is a cat's purr, supposedly triggered by a natural oscillation issued by its brain to the vocal cord area. It is said to not controllable by the cat. Moving on. Frequency. The best conditions for optimum transfer of RF energy is a function of frequency and exposed area size (or internal function with an oscillatory nature). Equivalent wavelengths (RF to target) or internal oscillatory frequency is the best case for optimum transfer and potential damaging effect. In the case of human tissue transfer, what I remember is that best case is on the order of 1/30th of a second. Further, based on the cat and other observations of human reaction time, perception, etc. I can't imagine it being anywhere near the frequency of what cell towers emit. Thus, not an optimum power transfer that would affect some brain function at a "frequency/modulation level" other than possibly a pure SAR effect over an extended time. I'm not saying I don't believe there could be effects 800 ft. away from a cell tower, but I can't see how it is the effect you describe.
Why yes! The outright nerve of Bob to suggest a proven scientific method to determine if the effect is real! :0)
Mine is too, won’t even reach the other side of my house, with no interference. Makes me sick I have to buy a booster or new wireless modem...
Yeah, I grew up in an era when hypotheses were actually tested to see if they were valid. The “get consensus” step hadn’t even been added to the Scientific Method yet. Really old school stuff.
so get rid of it ,D’oh
Yep, basic inverse square law.
“But try standing or working within 800 feet of a cell tower.”
I think anyone who lives in a city already does that, because there are towers everywhere.
“The strong electromagnetic signals spewing from cell towers have cumulative effect on the smooth functioning of the brain waves of mammals...”
Citation?
“Equivalent wavelengths (RF to target)...”
That’s a key factor that most laymen have no understanding of. To them, EMF is EMF, if some of it is bad, it must all be bad. The fact is, unless the EMF is in a very narrow wavelength range, it will pass right through you without really interacting with your body at all.
That’s why, for example, dry stuff doesn’t cook in the microwave. The microwaves’ wavelengths are tuned to the size of the H20 molecule, so if something has no water in it, there is nothing for the microwaves to interact with and transfer energy to.
Patient: Doctor, I have trouble breathing and break out in cold sweats when I get into an elevator. What should I do?
Doctor: Don't get into elevators
For higher frequencies, the size of the human body as a whole is important, as is critical body parts - eyes, brain, testicles (very important here from my perspective!) :0)
There is also the consideration about children and infants and their sizes.... regardless, there is transfer, size relates to optimum transfer; but it does not negate the potential effects of accumulated (absorbed) RF power exposure over an extended period for non-ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation is a different story.

Then you can google Barrie Trower and find out why he is an expert in this field ...
Forget the tin foil; that’s obsolete. She needs the latest in high-tech thought projection: a colander. It will keep the WiFi’s thoughts out of her head, while still allowing her to project her own thoughts out through the holes.
But she should not get a plastic one; those don’t work. It has to be metal.
ROFL God I love that show
I did google him - extensively. Besides the multiple entries that came up with nearly the exact same qualification references (word for word), there were a couple or three others that weren’t so nice. I’m not going to get into it any further, but I’d invite you to do the same with an open mind.
Better have that be mu metal.....there could be magnetic effects from the earth here too! :0)
Yes, and the nice thing about a colander is that you can run a rubber band through the handles to fashion a nice chin strap. Now you’re EMF shielded hands-free!
“Then you can google Barrie Trower and find out why he is an expert in this field ...”
I did, and it appears he is a retired high school physics teacher, not a doctor or biologist. So what are his qualifications to say how EMF affects the human body, exactly?
Actually I think media/academia have been making people sick for decades...the sickness is called liberalism...the cure is to avoid those parasites.
I think if she threw out her pot and started smoking some with a higher CBD to THC ratio, her problems would be solved.
What a weirdo.
