Yup.
Saves a lot of time.
Heck, I wouldn’t hire most of my cousins for the reasons you give.
Great post! I love these stories of people putting their life on social media.
As much as I hate facebook, it is an excellent source of OSINT!
Why do you hate men?
Well, you’ve let the cat out of the bag. Libs will now probably pass laws to prevent employers from looking at the Facebook pages of job applicants, or from using the Facebook pages as a basis for hiring.
My facebook page is not public, though I understand there are ways (through friends posts) of seeing a certain amount.
Not that I’d worry anyway. I unfriend people that pull the stuff a lot of the people referred to in the OP do.
Don’t you wish you could tell these ignorant young skanks the reason WHY they didn’t get the job?
It would be doing them a courtesy to point out their FB posts, like their tattoos, are costing them money and jobs, but if you were to do that - you would be sued and your business would be shut down.
I know someone in the insurance claims biz. They use social media all the time to obtain info and pictures on “claimants” to support a charge of fraud.
It’s a fascinating intersection between
“Character is what you do when you think no one’s looking”
and
“LOOK AT ME! ME ME ME!”
A few years ago, I was unemployed and had a very positive interview, expecting an offer. My daughter posted it on facebook. I told her that I didn’t know how savvy the company was and since some companies check out social media, I didn’t want them coming across her showing me as being presumptive.
She didn’t understand why I wanted the post removed but finally did it.
BTW, I got the job.
How easy is it to verify the page they’re looking at is that of the one who applied and not just someone w/the same name?
Makes you weep for America knowing that this generation will eventually reproduce if they haven’t already.
That is the only reason I would have a FB account...if I were a business owner or HR person in charge of hiring new applicants. For no other reason would it be useful to me.
If they check mines they will see farm animals. I wonder what a potential employer think about that. I rarely post a few anti obama stuff but my page is only seen by friends. My page is full of garbage from the farm, what could ever go wrong?
As one of those that posts a lot of the things you say you turned away from, AND having at least one visible tattoo, I can tell you that it has NEVER ONCE impacted my work or what I do. In fact, I have been recognized as one of the highest and best performing employees on quite a few occasions. Fact is, I love what I do. I work hard, and I play even harder. As it happens, my play time often includes activities that would lead someone such as yourself to completely pass on even an interview. Shameful, at best. Ignorant, at worst. BUT, it certainly is your prerogative. I'll just sit back and laugh at all the potential talent you are passing up on.
Since the women you rejected had good resumes, it is more likely that they use LinkedIn for business networking.
I use FarceBook but not under my real name. A person would have to be cra-cra ;’)
Most of my nieces and nephews have two facebook account. One, with their real name is for family. The other is for, well others.
I like facebook. I am old, and I use it to share family photos that I have collected over the years (tens of thousands). These are photos that few in the family would ever have a chance to see if it was not for face book.
(I spent seven years scanning every family photo album I could get my hands on).

Other side of the coin: no social media presence whatsoever. No Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Google, MySpace, or LinkedIn. Would grant that person an interview or be suspect?
