In April 2015, we saw the naming of Microsoft Edge, the release of Chrome 42, and the first full month of Firefox 37 availability. Now were learning that Googles browser has finally passed the 25 percent market share mark.
Between March and April, here is how the browser market changed, according to the latest figures from Net Applications:
Internet Explorer: down 0.71 points to 55.83 percent
Chrome: up 0.69 points to 25.68 percent
Firefox: down 0.19 points to 11.70 percent
Safari: up 0.12 points to 5.12
Opera: up 0.05 points to 0.48 percent
Breaking the IE figure down further shows good news for Microsofts browser: The latest version, IE11, grew 0.82 percentage points back over the 25 percent mark. IE10 and IE9 both slipped a bit (0.17 and 0.21 percentage points respectively), while IE8 fell a solid 1.26 percentage points.

I have tried Opera a few years back. May be worth another try.
I like the Ad-block features.
Adblock Plus works better than Adblock. Two different extensions by two different programmers.
Most of the computers where I work have at least two of these and many have all three. They need to go to website sites of vendors and there are some out there that need IE 8 to run.
Yes Opera with an Ad blocker is working great for me
For awhile Chrome was not working on my PC, so I did some checking and found Google Chrome Canary. It’s sort of a beta version of Chrome (google it to find more information and to download it). Oddly, after I had used Chrome Canary for a week or so, I accidentally clicked on my regular Chrome icon and it worked again! I have no idea how that happened.
Chrome is my secondary browser. Firefox is my primary.
“Breaking the IE figure down further shows good news for Microsofts browser:”
They can break it down all they like, but I still don’t see how overall .71 percent drop for IE is good news.
“Firefox 37 is the new IE6”
Just curious about why you’re making that comparison. What has Mozilla done to fuchup FF now?
That is my search engine, I don't see any reason to use any others.
GC is a resource hog.
FF has a better selection of Plug-Ins to prevent pop-ups and tracking software, so that’s what I use on my PC and my Android 4.4.4 phone.
I also like the YT plug-in that allows you to strip audio from a file in MP3 format as YT is filled with lots of older music that I like and I can DL just the audio or both audio and video.
The only positive about GC is the User Agent plug-in that allows me to tether my phone to my PC and use my unlimited data for internet on my PC if the need arises.
I use Safari and Epic. Opera is sweet, IE is old, Firefox is rude, Bing is slow, Ixquick is fine, and Cuil was ok but went out of business.
Despite those who produce Chrome being so suspect, I switched from FF to Chrome some time ago and find it to be a very good browser.
Opera with “Adblocker Plus” and “Ghostery” installed is a very fast, small, and quite stable browser setup that bypasses a lot of problems that other users find troublesome when browsing the net.
I recommend it highly.
